Yeah well you and Paul always seem to convieniently forget one very important part of the equation - the Consumers are paying extra for all the funds that are sent to Shareholders who do absolutely nothing to enhance the product or the service and in most cases at no time contribute anything to the company whose Stock the own

=========================================================

You do not mention that the stockholders put in their money to start a company with no guarantee that they will get a return on their money or that they will not lose it all. Companies employ people that pay taxes.

Do you want to do away with our system?

There are reasons why some companies do not pay taxes...it called tax laws..if you do not like them call your congress person and tell them what and why you want a law or laws changed.

I go for lower corp taxes and closing some of the loop holes...but many loop holes are there for a reason.

I don;t mention Shareholders investing in Start-ups because as a Rule it's not the average investor who participates - it's large Early Stage Venture Capital Firms

Companies employ whatever is the least costly strategy to get their work done - for example - many of the Largest most prominent US Companies are using Robots and even Drones - not Humans

Businesses do not exist to create jobs - that a hoax perpetrated by Politicians and Hedge Fund Managers - Businesses exist to make MONEY

Call my Congressperon - ha ha ha - We can;t even get them to give us a straight answer in person in Town Hall Meetings - Both Democrat & Republican

Good Luck with Closing Tax Loopholes - they exist to increase the wealth of the same people your suggesting I call to fix the problems

True. And such a person would understand that it is not an either/all, 100%/0% situation.

The wisdom I have often offered is that the healthiest economy requires assistance from the government - but only in insuring the freedom of the economy. Anti-trust legislation is a good example.

mick - I wonder if you could cite examples of someone saying that?

As to corporates taxes - they are just another cost of doing business, same as material, utilities, labor, etc. etc. etc. As such, they ends up in the pricing calculation. Therefore, the consumer does pay them. No unending stream of words about 1%ers, Ubberich, GOPerLords, or the rest can possibly change that reality.

Then there is the "Free Market Thingy" - the alternative is the "Managed Market Thingy". Preference????

And that reason is usually the fact that lobbyists bought off Congressmen and Senators. Do away with all loopholes.

There are valid uses for "loopholes" such as Governor Cuomo's giving tax breaks to lure businesses to his State.

One of the problems right now is that corporations have a significant market power that is slanting the "Free Market".  We don't need a managed market, but we do need to level the playing fields.

We can agree on that. The government has a place in a free market capitalism system and that is insuring the freedom. Anti-trust laws are an example.

Like Paul Harvey said Corporations do not pay taxes their customers are the ones that pay taxes...or words to that effect.

So when Corporations don;t pay taxes and yet still post extraordinary profits - how come the extra money is used to increase shareholders dividends and stock valuations instead of lowering the costs to consumers?

Paul Harvey said many cool things, but his aphorisms on taxation are mostly stuff that sounds nice but means nothing. If you really are paying the Corporations' taxes, why don't you pay less when the Corporation pays NOTHING?

Here's a question for GOPers - whenever you cut taxes, what service are you also cutting? Your masters will tell you it all comes out of fraud waste and abuse, but somehow they never identify any of those things.

Hi Older...good question.  Why would that be?  I'd say it's because they somehow manage to push a line item into the bottom line without accounting for how they did that.  That's called good business in today's world.  In my world that's called fraud...evern 'when', or 'if' the law allows it.

By the way, that pronouncement that "the donald" and his minions only did what the law allowed shifts the blame away from the perpetrator to the law and then to the people who wrote the law and then to the people who elected the people who wrote the law and that's you and me.  See how that works?  It ain't the mugger to blame, it's the muggee.  Got that?
