More than zero Tx.

Following is not a complete list & doesn't include those just wounded.

  • Most recently, Cruz used one to kill 17.  In addition: "It’s the same assault rifle that was used at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where Adam Lanza killed 27 people, including 20 first graders. It was used in Aurora, Colorado, where James Holmes killed 12 people in a movie theater. It was used in San Bernardino, California, where Syed Farook killed 14 people. And it was used in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Steven Paddock killed 58 people — to date, the deadliest mass shooting in United States history."

How many victims are needed before you think we should take some reasonable action?

Question isn't how many more slaughtered innocents the Republican Party will accept, it's how many more the good people will accept. I for one want the number as close to zero as possible and the only way to that goal is by banning semi-automatic weapons that can fire more than 8 times without reloading. No Republican running for office wants to ban semi-auto weapons, so no decent American should vote for them.

Just like some liberals here is it that they think that they are the only ones that are right but others are not?  Another one of your intellectually dishonest "questions"?  They are in the majority.

You have the numbers that constitue that majority, or is that your assumed partisan biased opinion?  Numbers, not poll numbers.

Only 'one kid'?  Of course it's only several kids among the millions who has access to firearms....where are the great numbers shooting up everyone?   You have a data base of instances?

Perhaps they should ban knives also?  Here's some more of your Stoneman Douglas kids pulling knives from various places of their clothing and body:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/stoneman-douglas-high-school-students-arrested-for-bringing-weapons-to-...

As far as trying to save lives, yes....by screening for mental illness, proper gun safety, etc.  Do you actually believe that banning certain types of firearms will solve the problem?  Of course that is the soap box de jour for liberals, but would it actually work?

May I suggest Dale Carnige's book, How To Win Friends and Influence People, or similar books?  As a major in psychology wouldn't you think that it would be better to persuade others rather than the direct challenging approach?

Have a good day.

I would believe that the topic is "Parkland Shooting Survivors".   Thanks for confirming you have no idea what the topic is about....any 2nd grader can read the headline.  The topic is about the NRA harassing the survivors and you haven't posted a word about it, but instead have been posting to bait and attack others.  I have been keeping it on topic rather than making it personal about another poster. No, you haven't.....the NRA, Tex, the NRA.  Why is it that you continue to make it so?  I haven't.....it was you with the passive aggressive comments about another posters education background. .

Still can't accept responsibility for making posts personal about others?  Sure, if and when I do.  But most of it is your own mind.  Perhaps the originator should has made the subject topic about the NRA instead of the Parkland shooters?  Perhaps you should have actually read the first post in the thread before jumping in.  Ya think?

So the kids claim the NRA is harassing them.  Aren't they doing the same to owners of AR-15 and equivalent firearms?  They're trying to save lives.  And you?  One mentally ill kid goes on a shooting spree killing students and the NRA is at fault? It's only "just one kid" if your head is buried in the sand.  What about the millions of law abiding owners of semi-automatic guns? They're only "law-abiding" until they aren't.  Then, you can call them crazy or sick like your President.

When do (sic) the right of some to join the NRA end and these kids begin? Who cares?  It's not about NRA Membership. Have they a legal case to claim harrssment or is it that they have a perceived gripe with the organization?  You'll need to ask them.  Give it a whirl......  Or do they think that they are entitled to have their way but no one else has that right?  MANY, in fact MOST Americans believe semi-automatic weapons should be banned.  You should catch-up on what's going on before coming here to post ill-informed opinions.  You would be better served.

Yeah - am I prohibited from answering?

Another answer - no - I'm not prohibited from posting an answer.

The semi-automatic operation and 30-round clip for the commercial AR-15 allows it to fire 120 rounds per minute with plenty of accuracy to hit human targets at close range. That "performance" has nothing to do with any legitimate use of a firearm and everything to do with killing lots of people quickly.

The NRA ceased being a supporter of gun owners back on March 22 1977 when the supporters of gun makers took over the organization. Several gun makers were suffering a severe downturn in their finances as their biggest "customer" - the Vietnam War - wound to a close, so they needed a way to boost civilian sales of their military weapons, and they chose the NRA as the means to that end.

Since then the NRA has worked very hard to connect their views with those of the radical right wing fringe that took over the GOP and the unholy alliance of the NRAGOP are now devoted to selling more military weapons no matter what carnage they cause in doing so.  The most popular model, designed after the M-16/AR-15 costs about $500 to make and sells for over $1,200.

The semi-automatic operation and 30-round clip for the commercial AR-15 allows it to fire 120 rounds per minute with plenty of accuracy to hit human targets at close range. That "performance" has nothing to do with any legitimate use of a firearm and everything to do with killing lots of people quickly.

To pretend we will ever be able to provide the enormous medical infrastructure needed to identify psychopathic killers BEFORE they kill AND alter our system of Justice to allow those we identify to be incarcerated BEFORE they kill is to totally abandon reason.

To contend that removing the tool most used to slaughter other human beings will not reduce the slaughter is an even greater rejection of reason.

Ban semi-automatic weapons that can fire more than 8 times before reloading and end the slaughter that no other developed Nation tolerates.

Begin by removing all the NRAGOP from office next November.
