That's HILARIOUS, Mick given you were shredding her the last year or so, saying she's out of touch, too old and was a horrible leader....and demanding others agree she needed to be replaced.

Hey, which way is the wind blowing today???

  • On day 35 of the government shutdown Donald Trump took to the rose garden and endorses what was basically the offer Dem's put on the table yesterday.

  • The government will re-open for three weeks

  • The dems and republicans will negotiate on "border security"

  • Not 1 penny will go to the wall until then

  • This was basically the deal that was originally supposed to pass 35 days ago

  • Everyone either hates Trump for wasting their time and making people suffer for 35 days including his racist base who hate him because he capitulated and got nothing for it

  • Speaker Pelosi on the other hand is getting lots of good press as she is being praised as a master negotiator

IF we have a "nanny government", why do we have the 27th highest standard of living while spending TWICE as much to "nanny" our 340million Americans than China spends to care for their BILLION citizens?

What we have is a GOPer-Government that has become wetnurse to Billionaires and Corporate Oligarchs while abandoning half the population as "unworthy" because they aren't paid enough to pay Federal income taxes.

One reason for the apparent disparity between Nanny government and standard of living is that Nanny government does not teach success it teaches survival. And, that survival is based on the actions of government, not individual effort.

A mindset of survival based on dependency does not create a great life style.

So what did Americans do while under a Nanny Government that had a TMR of over 65%?

Recovered from the Great Depression (which was triggered by deregulation and a cut in the TMR from 65% to 25%)

Tamed our great rivers

Built the Golden Gate Bridge, Hoover Dam, Chesapeake Bay Tunnel, etc

Won WWII

Created the Middle Class

Landed men on the Moon and brought them back

So, what has been done since the Reagan Taxscam made the Nanny State impossible? More billionaires. More people loosing everything because of illness. More people unable to afford higher education. More people losing their homes to foreclosure. More bridges collapsing. More schools failing.

Really got things turned around when Republicans decided to stop having the Uberrich pay a fair share to enjoy the benefits of being in America, didn't they?

The flattening of wages began in the '70s. That cannot be blamed on those dreaded Reagan tax cuts.

Still trying to figure out how a Government that allows 640,000 citizens to lose EVERYTHING because they or one of their family got sick is a "Nanny".

Or how a "Nanny" would permit 9,000 people, mostly very old and very young, to DIE every year from PREVENTABLE food poisoning, just so Food Processers can maximize profits.

What "Nanny" did you ever hear of that allowed children to have loaded guns, let alone ENCOURAGE it?

Is it because this Nanny MIGHT once again force the Uberrich little snowflakes to contribute a fair share to the operation of the "nursery" so none of those other things happen any more? Pretty sure that's it, definately NOT sure having such a "Nanny" is a bad thing.

Exactly right scout.  Soosie forgets how efficiently Ms. Poppins put all in order tout suite.
