Obama administration gave Hezbollah a pass

The reason many people are members of the Trump Cult is either their inability or unwilllingness to crtically examine the news. They are soft, easy targets of right wing propaganda. They automatically believe every conspriacy theory which makes President Obama or HIllary look bad.

Meanwhile, they completely ignore all of the wrong doing by the Trump Campaign and Trump Administration. Just throw them a story that even hints at wrong doing by Hillary or President Obama and they lose any ability they have to critically examine the facts.

Interesting...  So do I understand you are suggesting POLITICO is now part of the vast right wing conspiricy?  Talk about drinking the Hillary Koolaid!

Are you not aware that POLITICO broke this story?  Many news agencies are talking about it, this is not a Foxnews exclusive.

Take a look and inform yourself about the subject you are posting to... LOL!

So President Obama chose to stop Iran's Nuclear Weapons program in exchange for DELAYING prosecution of some druggies? Sounds like a fantastic deal to me - no more nukes in the Mideast, all the evidence on Hezbollah preserved for future use, who but a GOPer can pretend this is not in America's best interesst?

Seems Mueller must've gotten some good, admissible and prosecutable info from Flynn - the GOPerLords are pulling out all the stops to get their dupes into "full diversion mode" so people will have another bright shinny to distract from the reality of the Trump Family Traitors.

Then we could bring up the FACT Nixon's War on Drugs Blacks and Hippies Use has been an unmittigatged disaster from day one, unless you accept the Republican's reason for launching and continuing this War - it locked up millions of Black parents, leaving their families impoverished and the arrested parent unemployable.

We should be legalizing pot and DECRIMINALIZING all other drugs so we can only arrest the major dealers, stop destroying families and save billions by no longer having any reason to continue to feed and house HALF our prison population, a group that is larger than the Soviet Gulaug ever dreamed of becoming. But instead of becoming more rational, the GOPers need to divert attention from the crook they elected POTUS, we'll waste more billions of dollars and thousands of manyears of police effort continuing Nixon's War on Drugs Blacks and Hippies Use

“The idea that he was soft on Hezbollah is not one of them. The story is so manufactured out of thin air that it's hard to push back except to say that it's a figment of the imagination of two very flawed sources.”

Sessions added, …... “we will leave no stone unturned as we work to making America safer.”

If he were committed to "making America safer" he would not have lied to Congress and then have to recuse himself from law enforcement's investigations into Russia hacking our election.

It is surprising anyone does not realize j.sessions is a very flawed source. I'm sure dt is aware though. Meanwhile, as always, tick tock tick tock and nothing j.sessions does is going to stop that clock.  This topic is dirty laundry pulled from the futility basket.

U.S. Attorney-General Jeff Sessions ordered an investigation of law enforcement agencies after the release of a shocking report last week said the Obama administration squelched U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigations and arrests of Hezbollah agents to pave the way for his legacy nuclear deal with Iran.

The report, “The secret backstory of how Obama let Hezbollah off the hook” published in Politico, alleged:

“In its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States.

“The campaign, dubbed Project Cassandra, was launched in 2008 after the Drug Enforcement Administration amassed evidence that Hezbollah had transformed itself from a Middle East-focused military and political organization into an international crime syndicate that some investigators believed was collecting $1 billion a year from drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering and other criminal activities …

“When Project Cassandra leaders sought approval for some significant investigations, prosecutions, arrests and financial sanctions, officials at the Justice and Treasury departments delayed, hindered or rejected their requests.

“And the State Department rejected requests to lure high-value targets to countries where they could be arrested.”

In a written statement, Sessions said, “While I am hopeful that there were no barriers constructed by the last administration to allowing DEA agents to fully bring all appropriate cases under Project Cassandra, this is a significant issue for the protection of Americans. We will review these matters and give full support to investigations of violent drug trafficking organizations.”

Between opining about Obama and Hillary, I'm not sure how the right has time to pay attention to Trump. Talk about living rent free in someone's head. Too funny.

Obama administration gave Hezbollah a pass

EXCLUSIVE: Attorney General Jeff Sessions is launching a review of a law enforcement initiative called Project Cassandra after an investigative report was published this week claiming the Obama administration gave a free pass to Hezbollah’s drug-trafficking and money-laundering operations to help ensure the Iran nuclear deal would stay on track.

The Justice Department said in a statement to Fox News that Sessions on Friday directed a review of prior Drug Enforcement Administration investigations “to evaluate allegations that certain matters were not properly prosecuted and to ensure all matters are appropriately handled.”

“While I am hopeful that there were no barriers constructed by the last administration to allowing DEA agents to fully bring all appropriate cases under Project Cassandra, this is a significant issue for the protection of Americans,” Sessions said in a written statement. “We will review these matters and give full support to investigations of violent drug trafficking organizations.”

According to a bombshell exposé in Politico on Sunday, an elaborate campaign led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, known as Project Cassandra, targeted the Lebanese militant group’s criminal activities.

But when Project Cassandra leaders, who were working out of a DEA facility in Chantilly, Virginia, sought approval for some significant investigations, prosecutions, arrests and financial sanctions, Obama Justice and Treasury Department officials delayed, hindered or rejected their requests, according to Politico.

“Protecting our citizens from terrorist organizations and combatting the devastating drug crisis gripping our nation are two of the Justice Department’s top priorities,” Sessions said. “Operations designed to investigate and prosecute terrorist organizations that are also fueling that drug crisis must be paramount in this administration.”

DOJ officials told Fox News the review could lead to new prosecutions of people affiliated with Hezbollah. It could also lead to an Inspector General investigation of personnel matters relating to the project.

“The DEA has worked tirelessly on this front,” Sessions said. “I am committed to giving our hard working and dedicated DEA agents all the tools that they need to allow them to shut down these drug rings.”

Sessions added, “The Department of Justice is absolutely committed to investigating and prosecuting international drug trafficking organizations and with the assistance of our DEA and FBI agents we will leave no stone unturned as we work to making America safer.”

Since the report surfaced, a number of Republican lawmakers have demanded answers about the allegations. Meanwhile, former Obama administration officials have broadly dismissed the allegations as false.

“There are many reasonable critiques of Obama's foreign policy,” former Obama official Tommy Vietor tweeted. “The idea that he was soft on Hezbollah is not one of them. The story is so manufactured out of thin air that it's hard to push back except to say that it's a figment of the imagination of two very flawed sources.”
