Re: OOPS, China's trade deficit

The BOOMING US economy if powering the deficit with China. Simply... we're buying more sh... stuff. People are working and wages up. Takes time to turn such a giant economic ship. China's economy is retracting and ours is expanding. Hoping all works out for both countries, especially the US. Certainly everyone wants fair trade... right?
Trade is also up with Mexico and Canada.

To your point, we will never have a trade surplus with nations like China because we are a nation of consumerism. We do love to buy sh...uff. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe one day with the EU, but only because of agriculture.

Even the dems want China to change their ways... but we know how that turned out in the past.

The greatest harvest is yet to come. To bad the farmers don't know what to plant. I guess the tariffs are a really Big OOPS.

Message 3 of 3

Donald promised he would punish China and cut their trade deficit.    Regardless of all of donald's rhetoric, he has thus far failed and failed hugely.

US trade deficit with China grows to a record and it's likely even worse than the data show

  • China's trade surplus with the U.S. — closely watched amid the tariff war between the two countries — grew 17 percent from a year ago to hit $323.32 billion in 2018.
  • According to Reuters, that's the highest on record dating to 2006.
