Obamacare does not target the poor. Here are the people who derive the greatest benefit from Obamacare.

  • Those who work for companies who do not provide health insurance
  • Those who work for companies who did provide health insurance, but they were laid off and lost their coverage.
  • Here's a big one, the SELF EMPLOYED

The self-employed are unable to provide for their needs all of a sudden???

Not "all of a sudden" - it happened over decades as Republicans blocked every effort to control health care costs including health insurance.

In 1960, the cost of health care for the average worker was $146/year and his income was $4,292 so health care took 3% of his income. In 2016 the Republicans had allowed the average cost to grow to $10,348 and held wages down to $51,939 making health care consume 20% of a workers wages.

The end game for the GOPerLords was to enslave workers to their employer by making it impossible for them to leave a job for fear of losing their health coverage. If not true, then WHY DID REPUBLICANS DO IT?

Doesn't really matter - Republicans voted to end the mandate, insurance companies said all along that without the mandate, coverage for pre-exicting conditions would be "unaffordable", and that slimyGOPer move has already caused the biggest premium increases since PPACA became law.

Of course trumpettes cheer such actions because they falsly believe only the very poor will be harmed, but they are mistaken as will become obvious when they see next years premium hikes.

This Trumpette knows that the poor have and have had their own program - Medicaid. There is no need to fold the productive into one big socialized medicine scheme. If Medicaid needs adjustment - adjust it.

Very interesting. Medical care provided under Medicaid is paid for by the Government - Federal and State. "Obamacare" is PRIVATE insurance with some of the premiums receiving Federal subsidity. So our resident antiGovernment poster desires to expand A GOVERNMENT OPTION! Good for you! Universal single payer is the only rational solution, and you came to the same conclusion, tho now its been pointed out, you MAY change your mind.

Again, a program exists for the poor. There is no need to mix the productive into the package. Since we already have a program for the poor, why would you want to scrap it and create a new program?

Medicaid left 60 million working Americans with no health insurance. PPACA cut that number by 34Million, and Medicare For All aka Universal coverage, single payer will take care of ALL Americans, including those who are not paid enough to have to pay FEDERAL income tax despite working over 40 hours every week.

Again - if you want to expand the program for the poor, why involve everyone else. Just expand the existing welfare program.

The lack of understanding as to what the ACA does and to whom is extraordinary. shame on posters that i know know better than that.

Now, i just heard Susan Collins that stated that she is pretty sure that this Federal Judges action will be struck down and at this point there is no appetite to actually get rid of the ACa and that is due to the many existing parts of that program that will affect all of us.

Medicare recipients in their prescription drugs and their supplemental programs.
People that have previous conditions and that may loose the  the action of obtaining insurances

The loss of children under 26 not being in their parents insurance.

The many that has gone into the Medicaid expansion programs to obtain health insurance

I have news to many posters, not even the Insurances are too happy if the ACA is totally repealed because of the havoc that it will create.

So before you say a word about the ACA research and see how is going to touch you, because I will assure you that it will.

Former President Barack Obama on Saturday attempted to comfort those who might be frightened that they would lose their health insurance after a federal judge in Texas ruled that the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, was unconstitutional.

Joined by many other high-profile Democrats, Obama was quick to respond to the decision that the law was made unconstitutional when Republicans removed the individual mandate from the law — a law that occurred earlier this year.

"As the decision makes its way through the courts, which will take months, if not years, the law remains in place and will likely stay that way," Obama said in a statement. "Open enrollment is proceeding as planned today. And a good way to show that you're tired of people trying to take away your health care is to go get covered!"

Midnight Saturday is the deadline to sign up for 2019 plans via HealthCare.org.

U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor ultimately sided with a group of Republican-leaning states who had chosen to challenge the law, though his decision does not mean that Obamacare is scrapped immediately.

Obama clarified that the decision did not immediately strike down the law and that there was a long legal battle ahead.

Like I have been saying. I am actually singing songs. and  really laughing as to what will happen in this country.

If Americans now refuse to wake up and take notice as to what will happen to many of them in that case they deserve what they get.
