Here’s an easier explanation as to why these weapons should be banned:

American citizens are being slaughtered with regularity by people who have purchased these military weapons with the intent to massacre.

Only a total idiot wouldn’t  get that.

No he/she/it isn't correct - it is 45 rmp.

What rk is clinging to is the fact the manufacture notes "A semi-automatic like the Bushmaster AR-15 XM15-E2S has a maximum effective rate of fire of 45 rounds per minute, according to its manual."

Effective means being able to "sight in" your target each shot BEFORE you fire. That might be necessary when deer hunting, but for slaughtering humans in a crowd, it is totally unnecessary.

In Sandy Hook the scum simply leveled his semi-auto rifle waist high and blew out the lives of infants and their guradians at around 120 rounds per minute.

For the scumcucker in Vegas, he had the "BUMP STOCK" and was able to spray the crowd with over 300RPM because that wonderful NRAGOP approved modification allowed him to empty a 30 round clip in about 2 seconds WHILE MAINTAINING CONTROL OF WHERE THE BULLETS WENT. That last is one of the mfgr's big selling points.

rk does not understand what s/he/it reads.

How sad is it that it is the companies of America who finally have said enough to the crooked propaganda spewing and murderous NRA?

Once again, they are far from the top 50 contributors. So, how do they buy legislators?

The "greedy" NRA is merely representing the interests of it's members. That is the role of such an organization.

Representatives who support that agenda are representing the interests of their constituents.

That is how the system is supposed to work.

According to the NRA itself, there are only 5 million NRA members. There are approximately 360 million people in the United States. So for our Congress to cater to the NRA and it's members is "how the system is supposed to work '? So for our Congress to do what the NRA and it's 5 million members want is "representing the interests of their constituents"?    Really ?????

ROFLMAO !!!!!!!!!

If only you could stop your silly laughing long enough to read the posts you are responding to you would come across a lot smarter. I said "Representing the will of their constituents" not the NRA. If they don' t - they are out. That is how the system works.

You are approaching this like you do everything else - anyone not being willing to accept the lies of the left are idiots.

You might want to consider the possibility that discussion without that "idiot" proviso might be more interesting.

BAN SEMI-AUTO WEAPONS!! Here's why

The AR-15 for sale to civilians is semi-auto and can fire around 120rpm, about 12 seconds to pull the trigger 30 times (with some ability to "aim") and at least 3 seconds to change the clip.

HOWEVER if you "flex" your non-trigger arm forward, you'll pull the gun forward after every shot causing your trigger finger to depress the triger and approximate full-auto fire, sending 30 rounds downrange in 2 seconds. Until a couple years ago, this was just a fun thing because there was no chance to aim, but then a company called Slide Fire Solutions introduced a replacement rifle stock called the SSAR-15 that, for $369, allows you to bump fire your AR-15-style rifle from your shoulder while still retaining accuracy and control. The stock, in the simplest terms, is the part of the rifle you hold and brace against your shoulder. According to the Slide Fire website, “unlike traditional bump firing, the Slidestock allows the shooter to properly hold the firearm and maintain complete control at all times. As a result of the forward movement required to discharge each round, the shooter naturally corrects their point-of-aim for each shot and prevents recoil from pushing the firearm's muzzle upward in an unsafe direction.” Or, as the subhed more concisely puts it, the SSAR-15 lets a shooter “unleash 100 rounds, in 7 seconds.” A product review at a site called Guns America notes that the SSAR-15 “installs in one minute with no special skills. Basically, this device returns the AR-15 to it's former military mode of "full auto" which the maker claims is 800rpm (but actual tests by the Army back in the 60's puts at 350-400)

Spraying a school bus or crowded classroom needs no "aiming", so the full-auto option for mass murderers of children with the semi-auto weapon is always available, even if they ban the "bumpstock".

Firing 120rpm while hunting is referred to as the "spray and pray technique", is generally worthless and anyone who needs more than 2 shots to bring down their game has no business humting - they are a deadly danger to other hunters and livestock.

There is no way to keep a semi-auto weapon from being converted to full-auto and there is no hunting or sport justification for being able to fire 120rpm in the semi-auto mode

45 rpm. You are obsessing over this fantasy like you do over the Reagan tax cuts.

All the NRAGOP smoke cannot change the fact every mass murder since the Texas Tower involved these MILITARY GRADE weapons. There is absolutely NO reason anyone needs to be able to fire 120 to 140 rounds per minute UNLESS they're killing lots of human beings.

There is no need for your NRAGOP or anyone else to try to change your made up "fact" because it is not a fact. it is a figment of your imagination.

I must point out that the neoRepublican Party opposes any action to fix any of the non-gun problems I've noted, so the first thing that has to happen is for men and women of good will to STOP voting Republican - they are the enemy of a safe and just America.

If you must point it out, I'd say you must support your theory with more than your call for a one party system.
