  • There are no protocols in place to monitor North Korea
  • There are no specific details or deadlines
  • We have nothing but vague promises
  • Some Korean experts believe when North Korea talks about denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, they're talking about the U.S. leaving

In sum, the only thing we know for sure is there are no specifics, only a good feeling because they met and talked.

The good thing about this is that the 'sides' are not shooting...but that has been the case since the armistice, not peace treaty, in 1953.  For many of those years, no coherent conversation was possible due to the recalcitrance of both sides...and possibly the United Nations as well.

There is a reason North Korea was tagged as a 'Rogue State'.  Dialogue did not suit the 'dear leader's' purposes then and now suits the current 'dear leader'.  Opinions why vary widely.

Me....I think we now have a 'dear leader' of our very own who 'knows' what's best for all of us.  He told us so.  Kindred souls 'understand' the unreasonable burdens placed on them by an unruly populace.  Empathy is now possible, don't you see?   "We can work it our...we can work it out.......".  Sound like a Beatles song?  It is.  S'pose our 'dear leaders' are fans?

Good question for them. How did a reporter obtain a classified report?  Was it deliberately leaked to torpedo any attempt at furthering dialogue with North Korea and reducing tensions?

IMHO Kim WILL destroy NK's nuclear weapon test site, Der Trumper and the Trumpettes will claim victory and remove many sanctions, and the World will RALMAO.

A little History for those who actually think: Israel has around 300-400 ThermoNuclear weapons, and NEVER ACTUALLY DETONATED ONE (well, except for that one off the coast of South Africa). There's no need to actually blow anything up, computer simulations work GREAT - the US never tested the design for Little Boy because they KNEW it would work because they proved it using a blackboard and sliderule.

Just a cautionary tale for those who eschew FOX before Lemontop tries to sell his wonderfulness at getting NK to give up something it doesn't need.

DONALD TRUMP’S KIM JONG UN MEETING ACHIEVED NOTHING AND NORTH KOREA ISN’T DESTROYING WEAPONS SITES, CLASSIFIED REPORT REVEALS

The agreement signed Tuesday between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un left many open questions about how the two countries will pursue denuclearization, according to a classified Israeli government report.

The Israeli foreign ministry report also says that the Trump administration backtracked on many of the demands it had said it would make in the run-up to the meeting with Kim, according to some of the classified document's highlights published by Axios.

"Regardless of the smiles in the summit many in Japan, South Korea and the U.S. Congress doubt that North Korea is sincere in its intentions. Our assessment is that regardless of President Trump's statements about quick changes that are expected in North Korean policy, the road to real and substantive change, if it ever happens, will be long and slow,” the report indicated.

snip

South Korea, who lives under constant threat of an attack from North Korea, has been strengthening its military in the wake of the meeting. Seoul will soon finalize the purchase of F-35A stealth aircraft from Lockheed Martin.

Wise decision on the part of South Korea IMO, the US can't  be trusted anymore.
