Re: NEW TRAVEL BAN SIGNED

Like his first travel and immigration ban signed six weeks ago, this one will not survive a court challenge. It will go on the scrap heap of bad ideas very quickly and Donald Trump will no doubt rant against "liberal activist judges", but this travel ban will die like his first one.

Unlike previous bans on travel and immigration signed by previous Presidents, including President Obama in 2011, this one is not precipitated by events. The travel ban most cited is the one that President Jimmy Carter signed forbidding travel into and entry into the United States from Iran. That followed the take over of the Iranian government by the Ayatollah and rising anti American sentiment in Iran.

President Obama's 2011 travel ban against Iraq was driven by events as well. Intelligence revealed that there was a potential terrorist plot originating from a cell in Bowling Green Kentucky that could lead to potentiall terorists entering the United States. Nothing happened from this potential plot and the ban was quickly lifted. In fact this would not have even been mentioned if Donald Trump's media master Kelleyanne Conway hadn't made reference to the "Bowling Green massacre" that never happened.

President Donald Trump's travel ban is not driven by any events other than his wish to show that he would keep his campaign promises and that he is a strong and decisive leader.

But it is having the opposite effect. It is showing that Donald Trump is playing to his "base" of supporters and to latent bigotry and racism. There are no international events occurring right now necessitating any travel ban from Muslim majority countries. What this latest exercise in futility by Trump will do would make it much more dificult for future Presidents (including Donald Trump) to issue travel and immigration bans when events dictate.

This is just one more reason why Donald Trump is mentally and morally unfit to he President.

Madriver--fact that WH waited to resign EO because it wanted to enjoy warm fuzzies, totally negated at that time, any urgency.  The slow roll out is keep chaos seen last rollout to a minimum.  Still racist and ACLU has already promised to have papers filed against EO, "by lunchtime."

Gee, I miss having a real President!!

It doesn't seem to be as urgently needed as the first one, as this one won't take effect until the 16th.

NEW TRAVEL BAN SIGNED

Despite the fact that studies have shown that the majority of people attacking the US have beenradicalized FROM within the United States,  and the fact that none of the original seven countries put in the original travel ban have had any terrorist attacksin the United States, Trump's  team has issued a new EO this morning.  Iraq is now off the list as "administration" bowed to pressure from their government. and so the bigotry and racism and hatred continues.  Tillerson, dripping with hypocracy and racism dedended it this AM. Fed judges! Do your jobs

Gee, I miss having a real President!!
