First I've heard of this. Did Lauer admit the charge was true?

If he didn't then this is a disturbing trend of firing people on the strength of a mere accusation

If there is PROOF or Lauer admits it's true, that's one thing, but if he (or anyone else) id disgraced over an  accusation it's too much and just looks like "the bandwagon effect" where we'll be seeing people in trouble for nothing at all, other than the word of some woman who may or may not be telling the truth.

My wife, ever seeking information on whats in the news, found katie couric talking in an interview how lauer continually pinched he butt. why she never slapped the crap out of him, and why no one listened to her we will never know. yet she knew and blew the whistle for herself in 2012. I always thought lauer had a gollum like look about him...and he assisted in destroying hard news in the morning.

she also found a new term on the web..

PERVNADO!!!

NBC handled this all wrong. What they should have done was buy the victims' silence for years, kept Lauer on air as a martyr, and then when left with no choice but to fire him, claim it was all the result of a LIBERAL media witch hunt.

Oh, wait, only Fox News does stupid cr@p like that. Nevermind.

Now if Americans could just get rid of the sexual predator in the WH. Ya know the one whose voice can clearly be heard on the Access  Video tape, the one who admitted to the veracity of the tape, but who now, in some delusional mentally ill state now denies it!!

You know the one who condemns all who are accused of preying on women—unless they are Republicans—even those Republicans who prey on children.

trump—in his classless and continuing animalistic disgusting behavior continues to use the sexual abuse of women as a political tool, thereby preying on them once again.  There is nothing to gloat about here.

Great point, Phyllis.  And what did Fox do when they KNEW Bill O'Reilly was harassing MANY women?  They signed him to a new and bigger contract.

Some organizations have values and credibility.  Fox?  Not so much.....

NBC Fires Matt Lauer Over Sexual Misconduct Allegation

NBC has fired its leading morning news anchor Matt Lauer over a sexual harassment allegation, the network’s president for news said in a memo to staff on Wednesday.

“On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer,” Andrew Lack, the NBC News president, said in the memo.

He said the allegation against Mr. Lauer “represented, after serious review, a clear violation of our company’s standards. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.”

“While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.”
