Ah, yes...so it goes...can't be helped.  'Gotta break a few eggs to make an omlete.  'Too bad, so sad',... Your Dad.  After all, which would you rather be...safe or free? Primary purpose a President has is to keep you safe and "the donald" is just doin' his job.

That is a Hobson's choice you see there, just above.  It doesn't have to be 'either/or' and it sure as hell doesn't have to be the way it is being done. Want to see a whole slug of 'false equivalencies',  just read through the litany for the faithful republican...recited here in public.

And: "A U.S.-born scientist was detained at the Houston airport until he gave customs agents the passcode to his work-issued device."  https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2017/02/a-nasa-engineer-is-required-to-unlock-his-pho...

And then there's this one:

"A British teacher on a school field trip was escorted off an Icelandair flight to New York as 39 students looked on in shock.

"As I was making my way out of the plane I looked back at the kids to tell them everything was going to be okay. The look I got off the kids, they were shocked, they couldn't believe what was happening. This is when I felt like I was a criminal," Juhel Miah, a math teacher at Llangatwg Comprehensive School in Wales told CNN.

Miah, 25, was one of four school staff accompanying the children, aged 12-15, on a trip to New York, that included a one-night stopover in Reykjavik, Iceland."

A British citizen with the appropriate US visa, he still could not continue on the trip & his students were upset as detailed @:  http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/21/world/british-muslim-teacher-denied-us-trnd/index.html?sr=fbCNN022517b...

Don't forget this guy, a US-born engineer for NASA, who was detained because he's brown and has a funny (not-even-Arabic-or-Islamic) name.   AND he had to hand over his NASA phone, which compromised security of data.

Are US passports no longer any good for travelers who aren't white?

More of the WASPish notion - Flying while Black, especially if you are male guarantees that you will be stopped and harrassed.     A **bleep** moment, when even a US Passport is insufficient evidence or even flying with your mom....wow.

But not to worry /s, Donald wants to hire 10,000 more ICE agents.   There is insufficient ability to train these people, so he will hire and put them out of the streets - what could possibly go wrong?

And so it starts....... our own native born citizens.......born in Philly......citizens that live here......had a U.S. passport........detained, questioned.....his mother couldn't get help finding him because the local police had no jurisdiction, the TSA is technically on Federal property when in their interrogation rooms.

Now there are no answers....... was he on a list? Was he acting strangely? Why was he and his mother selected for interrogation?

Someone needs to begin the impeachment process now........ we are seeing the freedoms of the United States disappear before our very eyes.

We probably wouldn't have even heard of this story if the subject wasn't the son of the GREATEST boxer of all time.

More from the police state:  "Federal agents ask domestic flight passengers to show IDs in search for immigrant ordered deported"  https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2017/02/23/federal-agents-ask-domestic-flight-pas...

One article on this event questioned the authority that ICE has over domestic passengers but of course if you're one, you just as soon show your ID and get out of there as quickly as possible.

Muhammad Ali Jr. detained by immigration at Fla. airport

From:  http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/2017/02/24/muhammad-ali-jr-detained-immigration-fla-airpor...

"The son of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali was detained for hours by immigration officials at a Florida airport, a family friend told the Courier-Journal.

Muhammad Ali Jr., 44, and his mother Khalilah Camacho-Ali, the second wife of Muhammad Ali, were arriving at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Feb. 7 after returning from speaking at a Black History Month event in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They were pulled aside while going through customs because of their Arabic-sounding names, according to family friend and lawyer Chris Mancini.

Immigration officials let Camacho-Ali go after she showed them a photo of herself with her ex-husband, but her son did not have such a photo and wasn't as lucky. Mancini said officials held and questioned Ali Jr. for nearly two hours, repeatedly asking him, "Where did you get your name from?" and "Are you Muslim?"

When Ali Jr. responded that yes, he is a Muslim, the officers kept questioning him about his religion and where he was born. Ali Jr. was born in Philadelphia in 1972 and holds a U.S. passport."
