You have something against troops playing volleyball?  We played volleyball in Vietnam and at Nurnberg, Germany for recreation.  I cracked a knuckle playing volleyball in Nurnberg.  We had some mean games!!  You have something against troops playing volleyball as a diversion while relaxing?  You keep bringing it up.

I guess that concertina wire just put itself up without any help since all the troops are doing is playing volleyball.

Does anyone else find it odd that there is no mention of how they came up with the 500 number?  The article below gives a more detailed description of the conference call rather than pulling that one questionable comment. Remember, DHS are the people who sent 5,000 troops to the border at a cost of $72M and they are playing volleyball until December 15 when they leave. Looking like more fake news to me.

WASHINGTON — The probability that American border guards will face violence at the southwestern border is “minimal,” an internal Homeland Security Department document has concluded, undercutting a Trump administration proposal to protect the security officials from migrant attacks by pairing them with military troops.

The border intelligence analysis contrasts with statements by the department and the White House citing concerns about migrants overrunning official ports of entry and attacking border guards to enter the United States.

The troops are their to support the efforts of the Agents - barbed wire and such, not to kill those "poor, tired women and children". So the NYT article is meaningless.

BTW - do you suppose the troops Obama sent ever played volleyball? Volleyball seems to be a big thing to you.

Reagan backed and signed the 1986 Immigration Reform Act which legalized undocumented immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously with the penalty of a fine, back taxes due, and admission of guilt; candidates were required to prove that they were not guilty of crimes, that they were in the country before January 1, 1982, and that they possessed at least a minimal knowledge about U.S. history, government, and the English language. This granted citizenship to around HALF the undocumented workers then living in the US.

Funny how first the neoRepublicans rejected everything Ike stood for, and now they're rejecting everything Reagan did (except his taxscam).

Not so funny how Nixon's Southern Strategy has put racists in charge of the GOP.

Reagan struck a deal with the Dems - amnesty in exchange for stronger border security. They got their part and, obviously, reneged on his part. So now we find ourselves in the same position as Reagan did - overloaded with illegals and more on the way.

Leave it to the hate filled to see racism in not falling for the same scam again.

The topic says, "criminals". Leave it to the left to make it (like everything) racial.

Once again I must point out that EXPOSING racism is NOT racist.

Exactly what I have done. When the word "criminal" comes up and someone makes a racial assumption ("brown skin" for example) that is racism.

There is ZERO evidence any of the refugees has a criminal past, there is 100% evidence they are NOT white.

You'll have to talk to Homeland Security about that incredibly naive or intentionally erroneous assumption. And there is the racism again.

So either GOPers are basing their opinions on totally unsupported factors or they are simply continuing their pattern of overt and covert racism. Rational folks will see the result is the same - GOPers hate the caravan out of RACISM.

As is common on these boards, mind reading is based more on the hatred in the mind of the writer than on reality.

Your posts indicate that you are basing everything on partisanism and even throwing in racism.  You mention nothing about immigration laws and legal reasons for asylum. Further you throw in comments without providing sources for them.  Therefore one can't determine if they are factual or just your opinion.  They come across as the latter.

And you are completely the topic which is about criminals traveling with these migrants, not GOPlords, Reagan or Nixon's southern strategies.  Additionally do you have better intellegence than Homeland Security's saying that there is more than 500 criminals in this group of migrants?   I've posted that source previously.

Further, some have already stated that they were deported before and they want to get back to their old jobs in this country or for other reasons.

Have you considered that with such a huge number in these caravans that there are not informants embedded with them?  Or reports from El Salvador or Guatemala?  Why is it posters here think that the government should share intelligence and sources with them? Would you not think that MS-13 gang members has(sic) integrated themselves in the caravans to travel to this country?  Is it that posters here has(sic) better intelligence resources than the United States Government?

More clearly biased rhetorical hot air without cited sources to support what some might interpret as allegations without supporting facts...

So where is the evidence that content of the above post is based upon better intelligence resources - and why arent they cited?

As TOS and GUIDELINES suggests - "cite your sources"...

ARE there criminals in the caravan?

Why can't they be named?

Are ALL of the members of the caravan complicit in hiding their identities?

Can that be proved?

It's all trump's (the world KNOWS he lies) and his supporter's paranoid unAmerican xenophobic nonsense.

We handled 125,000 Cuban refugees during the 1980 Mariel boatlift. This caravan is nothing.

The influx of refugees then was between 15 April and 31 October 1980.  With these migrants we are seeing an influx within weeks instead of months.

Additionally Cubans were allowed to immigrate by just arriving without having to be vetted to see if they qualified for asylum.  Also remember that since you bring that up, there were a number of criminals who were imprisoned after they arrived.

Poor choice of comparison.

Total distortion of reality as ordered by the GOPerLords.

1. There is NO "influx" with "these" (the current folks camped out along the Mexican side of the border).

2. The Mariel Boatlift was great Humanitarianism, with a serious "unintended consequence". Carter acted out of concern for a handful of political refugees who were attempting to escape Castro's Cuba. Castro responded by emptying his jails and giving the cons boats and a map to Florida, hence the actual criminals included with the refugees.

3. The comparison is valid - all those evil Cubans have failed to bring down America, which is what the GOPerLords have made their tremorous, racist base believe will happen if a couple hundred MORE (we take in over 1,000,000 immigrants each year) non-white people were to become citizens.
