That is true. It shows that when you stand up for what will keep our country safe it will cost some. It easy to ignore problems...send them down the line like Mexico is doing when people from central American come into Mexico does....they let people seeking asylum to go through Mexico and send them to the USA, You like that?

Yeah, right. It will cost a lot of R-senators their seats if they lose support of big business. Even Ted Cruz understands the impact it will have on Texas and Texas jobs. Cornyn, on the other hand, is up for reelection and has already received an endorsement from Trump. Cornyn, so far, has been silent on the matter.

The fact that the Mexican president is willing to negotiate in good faith is one thing, and a good thing. The fact that Trump is not is another story. After months of negotiating, the USMCA was finally agreed to, though it lacks confirmation by Congress. That will probably be suspended pending new talks which just goes to show, Trump cannot be trusted to keep a deal once he makes it.

Trump has had over two years to deal with the border and immigration crisis, and he has done nothing to improve the situation. In fact, it gets worse by the day. The coyotes are telling those people to go now while there is still time. Go now, and take children because that will help you get in. (That's why border agents have started DNA checks). People are selling everything that they own to get these coyotes to take them to the border.

What Trump has done is bluster over a wall, shut down the government, threaten to cut off funding to Central American countries rather than address the source of the problem, and now threaten tariffs on Mexico. I believe that Trump WANTS these tariffs to go into effect. He doesn't want to negotiate. He wants to bully other countries and have them bend to his will.

So go right ahead Mr President, levy those taxes and lose the senate in 2020. Trump will finally succeed in doing what the D-party could not do on their own: TURN TEXAS BLUE!!

What "left wing Congress member" has said we have no problem or do you just get your information from Trump's tweets?

Thanks for asking.

Its time you understand that there are many on the ignorant left that say there is no crisis on the boarder. Here is one...

Big problem is Trump's objective is to find a way to make it look like Mexico is "paying for his wall" - in this case by spending a fortune making their borders more like North Korea's to slow the flood of refugees trying to flee to the US.

Mexico is not going to give in to such threats and is looking for other trade partners who can be trusted to replace as much of their trade with us as possible.

This is another economic disaster in the making by Cadet Bonespurs who has no clue how international trade actually works but does have the animal cunning to know how to manipulate his base.

That was funny. Were have you been? Do you watch and listen to our left wing Congress members or do you just get your information from left wing posters?

Its time that the left wake up and start to help solve the problem instead of doing what they are doing...ignoring what is going on.. Me things because of there hate for Trump they are against trying to sole the problem ... in fact many on the left say there is no problem.

He is not standing up for what makes our country safe. Even if the refugees WERE a safety issue, and they are not, Trump is just trying to outsource a solution to the problem he created  here at the border.

Yes KB.  I live fifty miles from the border. We are dealing with the CBP dumping refugees on our streets and having to move them to the interior with volunteers and funding from city governments. Texas and New Mexico are now suing on behalf of their cities for reimbursement.

When Trump changed the rules and made the refugees present themselves at the border, he opened up an amazing opportunity for the coyotes. Instead of having to move their customers into the interior, they just drop them off just across the border and point them to CBP officers. It lowered the costs and streamlined their operations. They all happy with the Snowflake.

They have opened up for profit prisons in New Mexico which had been closed for lack of business.  The government is now spending $70/day/refugee to house people who would not have made the trip if it had not been for Trump's tweets.

Other administrations have managed greater inflows under the same laws but Trump cannot manage anything.  Even the Republicans down here are upset with him.

Yes, I have been to the border.  We call it Friday here.

The problem with most on the left is they will not admit that we have crisis on the southern border. Their ignorance shows on this board every day....and they have the gall to blame Trump..OMG!!

Its time that the left wake up and start to help solve the problem

Wrong.  Everybody knows we have a crisis at the border.  The objection is with how the president is (or not) handling it.  Mr. 'Art-of-the-Deal' thinks bullying and threats will get what he wants, but this ain't real estate and this ain't no business deal, baby.
