Did you really see oligarchs in the article?

Oligarchy is "government by the few".

Republicans have used computers to raise Gerrymandering to an art form and rule several states with a decided MINORITY of votes. Republicans also push voter supression laws to disenfranchise millions of poor and minority citizens. Finally, they pushed Citizens United and the virtual repeal of the Voting Rights Act.

Thanks to Gerrymanders and voter disenfranchisement, Democrats received the majority of votes but Republicans control the upper house in 37 States and the lower house in 31.

So YES, we can all see the Oligarchs in the article.

Who are they that "we all" see and what have they done to lead the so-called "Climate denial movement"? The article was no more specific than your wandering rant.

Why would a handful of American Billionaires want to destroy the climate and end civilization?

could it be....

Because they believe they will rule over the post-apocolyptic world without a bothersome Government to get in their way?

Yep, it sure could.

Anyone got a better reason these neuvo riche twits woud act as they do?

Follow the money. Greed rules many and they try to rule others.

The DeVos foundation is listed. Betsy is Sec. of Ed., Brother head of Blackwater, and Trump contact with the Russians and it means the Mercers are in this (Brightbart, Steve Bannon). There is a catch all group Donor's Trust etc. as the biggest fund in it. Just think the people who want to end Nato, EU, Brexit, Over throw the pope, keep the US white are involved. Just another example of how Trump and his supporters are destroying the world and trying to keep it secret.

Meet the Money Behind The Climate Denial Movement

Message 10 of 10

Like most of us, I have never been able to get my head around the argument that scientists would risk their reputations and funding for current and any future studies in order to misrepresent climate change.  The statistics in the article from Smithsonian Magazine DO make sense if you are looking at the climate deniers.

Read the facts.

According to Brulle's research, the 91 think tanks and advocacy organizations and trade associations that make up the American climate denial industry pull down just shy of a billion dollars each year, money used to lobby or sway public opinion on climate change and other issues.

“The anti-climate effort has been largely underwritten by conservative billionaires,” says the Guardian, “often working through secretive funding networks. They have displaced corporations as the prime supporters of 91 think tanks, advocacy groups and industry associations which have worked to block action on climate change.”
