Re: Maryland: No Statute of Limitations Rape

Here's the rest of the Story

Republicans are going to Push through this Nomination - Regardless

They will listen to Kavanaugh Deny

They will listen to Christine Blasey Ford Accuse

There is No Determinate Minimum Standard for appointing Judges

The System is BROKEN

The Senate has No Rules for what Constitutes a Minimum Standard for Appointing Judges

If you or I go before a Judge or Jury - there are Minimum Standards for what determines our Guilt or Innocence

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt

Preponderance of the Evidence

But the JUDGES have no Minimum Standards they have to reach to be Confirmed - NONE!

That sets up a Scenario where a sitting Associate Justice of the Supreme Court can at anytime in the Future - anytime down the road be accused by Christine Blasey Ford and then

Be Arrested and Convicted of Rape and Physical Assault and we all knew that possiblity existed before he was appointed

And we all knew this before he was appointed

Quite a "sticky wicket" - no statute of limitations - trump can't pardon state crimes or convictions...

So now we have an actual prosecutable felony crime committed by a nominee to the SCOTUS, and GOPers don't want the FBI to investigate?

If there's not at least two Republicans who find this unacceptable behavior for a member of our highest Court, we need to get rid of the Republicans in office.

VOTE OUT THE NRAGOP IN NOVEMBER.

Maryland: No Statute of Limitations Rape

I live in Maryland and I didn't know that.

https://www.lawyers.com/legal-info/criminal/criminal-law-basics/maryland-criminal-statutes-of-limita...

Maryland Criminal Statutes of Limitations

Offense

Statute

Arson or “malicious burning”: No time limit

Md. Code Ann. Cts. & Jud. Proc. §5-106(b)(1)

Assault: No time limit

Md. Code Ann. Cts. & Jud. Proc. §5-106(b)(1)

Burglary: No time limit

Md. Code Ann. Cts. & Jud. Proc. §5-106(b)(1)

Disorderly conduct (or “disturbing the peace”): 1 year

Md. Code Ann. Cts. & Jud. Proc. §5-106(a)

Kidnapping: No time limit

Manslaughter: 3 years (vehicular) or no time limit

Md. Code Ann. Cts. & Jud. Proc. §5-106(o)

Murder: No time limit

Rape: No time limit

Receiving stolen property: 2 years or no time limit

Md. Code Ann. Cts. & Jud. Proc. §5-106(b)(1); Md. Code Ann. Crim. Law §7-104(i)

Robbery: No time limit

Theft: 2 years or no time limit

Md. Code Ann. Cts. & Jud. Proc. §5-106(b)(1); Md. Code Ann. Crim. Law §7-104(i)

Governor Hogan and the Maryland State police should get right on it. At the very least Ford and Kavanaugh should be interviewed.

Good point, I certainly wasn't.  Good research, Mick!

Good point. Maryland has no statute of limitations for rape or for assault, so it seems that both Brett Kavanaugh and Mark Judge remain potentially criminally liable for what Christine Blasey Ford alleges they did to her in high school. Nobody seems to be taking that into account https://t.co/b3Zf1IGXD4
