You might want to check the news sometime.  This has been going on since 2017 when Trump told peLOSER pinheads he would protect the Dreamers in return for the wall.

It was a campaign promise ... remember?, so in that light, he doing what he said he'd do ... much to your chagrin. promise made, a promise 'trying' to keep.

more winning!

I say he gets the money for border security & wall, one way or another.

Since his campaign promise was that Mexico was going to pay for the wall why has he shut down our government to attempt to make the US taxpayer to pay for it?

So in that light he is not trying to keep a campaign promise.

I Support Brakes on Vehicles Traveling the Public Roadways

When I take my Wifes Car in for a Safety Inspection and they say it needs Brakes - I get the Brakes fixed on her car

I don't then go home and get my Truck and tell the Garage to replace the Brakes on my Truck because my Wifes car needed them so my Truck must need them right now too

This is the Process most reasonable people follow when making important decisions

When my Wife needs a new pair of boots - I don't automatically but a pair for myself as well

Ten miles of Barrier may be required at a certain location on the Southern Border to address the unique situation right there

There is no justification for or proof that implementing the same solution that works in San Diego will also be applicable & successful in El Paso

Physical Location - Geography - Types of Problems - Who the Enemy is - what their tactics are - what their resources are - all figure into the equation

Build a Wall is nothing more than a mnemonic for both Trump The Trump Cult & many in the GOP

It's a unsophisticated ill-informed one size fits all solution to a different problem than Illegal Immigration Drug Smuggling and Human Trafficking

Trumps Build a Wall was a solution to the successful implementation and maintenance of a Feudal System back in Mideveil Times

You folks need to evolve at least a few Millenium in how you address Complex Problems

This 2017 GAO report told the Border Patrol to provide metrics by which to measure how fencing helped them be successful st their job.

This 2018 GAO report said they haven’t really done that yet, PLUS, they can’t effectively estimate projected costs based on design and use for different terrains.

https://www.gao.gov/assets/700/693488.pdf#page37

Until they do that, they have a huge risk of building inefficiently and ineffectively. Most state/local governments require much better accountability and oversight for capital projects like this. Maybe because they are required to have a balanced budget. This project is being handled in a very lazy way, and I’m giving them benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing. Because it sure doesn’t seem like they do. Or they are intentionally trying to build the wall without caring whether it’s effective or not.

Its easy to spend other people’s money and not care if it works.

Considering the areas where a physical barrier is being proposed - do you have a better idea as to how to secure those sections of the border?
