I think the winner is the GOP party. You ask why...OK both
Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders progressive ideas will not fly. They are radical and unrealistic. If the Democrats are to win they need a candidate that is moderate.

I thought Buttigeg put in a "meh" performance. He kept trying to remind everyone how young he is.  OK. I get it.

I still don't see anything "there" for Beto O'Rourke.

I still like Warren and Klovichar.

WARREN: You know, I don't understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really can't do and shouldn't fight for.

(APPLAUSE)

I don't get it.

(APPLAUSE)

BUTTIGIEG: It is time to stop worrying about what the Republicans will say. Look, if --

(APPLAUSE)

If it's true that if we embrace a far-left agenda they're going to say we're a bunch of crazy socialists. If we embrace a conservative agenda, you know what they're going to do? They're going to say we're a bunch of crazy socialists.

So let's just stand up for the right policy, go out there and defend it.

I agree. The candidates were better prepared, and CNN held them to the rules, including a time penality for interruptions. The moderators maintained control and kept the ball moving. The problem is having 10 people on stage, and limiting them to a one minute response. They just can't get into enough details to be meaningful with one minute bites. It will be better when more of these candidates have to drop out or get eliminated from the debates.

As for moving the needle, no one really did it for me, though I do think that Mayor Pete has the best demeanor of anyone on stage. Perhaps that is why he is picking up more support. Policywise, I align with Beto, but he lacks the debating skills to get his message across. He does much better with town hall formats. Mayor Pete isn't that far from Beto on policy, so I could easily vote for him, too. They both favor similar health care plans for expanding Medicare.

Looking forward to hear what Kamala Harris has to say tonight. She's still my favorite of the top five contenders.

Nicely said, @rker321 . Substance and issues which is what the presidential debates should be about and not get distracted from what Congress has to do (impeachment procedures).

BTW, Bernie "Wrote the **bleep** Bill"!

MY TAKE REGARDING THE DEBATES

Gosh they were so much better. I saw a bunch of individuals really producing a very  substantive debate, It was not a matter of agreeing with all,  It was a matter of the presentation, their answers and the policies that they presented.

They made one think and evaluate, which is what these debate should do.

There were a bunch of very concerned people and they presented their ideas well.

Hoping that toningt goes as well as yesterday.
