Re: MEDICARE FOR ALL AND OTHER SUBJECTS

Tex says "Those retirees that have health care and other benefits as part of their retirement package probably planned for retirement through their career choice. "

------------------------

There are only so many Gov't jobs with Lifetime Pensions and Lifetime Medical. Planning has nothing to do with that fact. Those who were lucky enough to have those few jobs are just that , while 90% of Americans never had that luxury. Be thankful you were one of the minority , but don't criticize the many who never had a shot and blame their Poor Planning.

Sorry guys, that bill is giving me palpitations.  I still haven't found out as to how they plan to implement it and  how is going to impact today's beneficiaries.

For what I read in the summary, is a fantasy land type of bill  and not   even as good ad Obamacare.

I realize that I may have to read a lot more but for the time being. NO WAY JOSe.

The number of the bill was in error - it's HR1384, and if you google it, you can find a brief summary and a 10 page version as well as the bill itself.

Haven't located how it's funded just yet - seems it would require those currently paying for the insurance to redirect payments to the new Agency who would then pass amounts to the insurer, adjusted for the lower costs resulting from the enormous decrease in overhead from using ONE set of covered services and one set of cost codes from the providers. This revenue stream would include all payments now being made by the Government for coverage under PPACA, Medicare and Medicaid.

Overall, looks very promising.

Scout, I am going to read the bill, thanks for providing the correct name. but what you are saying is giving me palpitations. so I will not say is great or not until I have an understnding on how is going to be implemented.

And does it explain the example that I put in the beginning? like the husband is the only worker in the household with a wife and kids. so it will be only him paying into that Medicare for All?  does it say anything about price control on the drugs?

Those retirees that have health care and other benefits as part of their retirement package probably planned for retirement through their career choice.  Brings to mind the Aesop fable of the Grasshopper and the Ant.

I would believe that most government health care programs extended to retirees requires participation in Medicare Part B.  Even then the government program pays what Medicare doesn't.

Considering the thought that went into your post, easy to see why you're a Republican. Medicare is paid for by everyone with a job, according to lil donny that excludes 4%, not 47% that Republican bosses don't pay enough to have to pay federal income tax.

I propose a three step process:

1. Read my words (above);

2. Read your words (above);

3. See if you can find any connection. (hint: lil donnie is not a factor)

Is anything written at this point about this?
