@MsStretch

Good points to tie this discussion together.

And does it seem that “corruption” has just become a trump talking point within

the last two weeks...hmmm!

Plus, when Congress appropriated the support funds for the Ukraine, was there discussion or concern about corruption?

As you point out, when trump inappropriately withheld the funds, it was not explained as being because of corruption...just multiple excuses.

We all know what Trump said, but his own staff has come up with other stories.  Mitch McConnell even said at the time that he couldn't get a straight story on why the funds were held.  Mick Mulvaney told the Pentagon and State Dept. that they were held up because Trump had concerns on whether it was necessary.  Then, those departments were briefed to tell Congress that the funds were held up due to "interagency process".  Follow me so far?

Even Trump hasn't stuck to his story of making sure the new Ukrainian government wasn't corrupt.  On another occasion, he claimed he held the money back because Europe wasn't doing their part.

No, Zelensky didn't know the funds were being held up at first because no one bothered to tell him.  Ukraine had no ambassador in Washington.

Art of the deal.  Make them sweat.  And the new inexperienced Ukrainian president was sweating because he was getting mixed signals from the American president.  Zelensky's advisors told him to tell Trump he was 'draining the swamp' in Ukraine because that was one of Donnie's favorite phrases.  He even told Trump he would stay at Trump Tower, for godsakes.

Read the entire WSJ article (I provided link in OP).  However, it's in the hands of the investigating committee now, and I daresay they have more resources and information than you or I do.

But it was not to be.  Ukraine depends on American alliance in its fight against Russian aggression, but Zelensky kept getting confusing signals from DC.  Then he got blindsided when he learned $400 million in approved military assistance had been withheld by Washington.

This is all part of how trump and his cronies has made America look untrustworthy in the eyes of most other countries today. It would be different if trump's actions were dealt with swiftly and stopped .......... but he has surrounded himself with corrupt stooges who do his bidding and even try to hid his actions in unethical and illegal ways.

The Democrats should subpoena the server that trumnp's conversations are being saved on.

President Trump and President Zelensky are both focused on finding and routing out corruption.  That is a good thing for the people that fund government.  Not so good for those that gorge themselves at the public trough everyday.

Then those unelected bureaucrats that are pulling the levers of government that have decided they know what is best for the people.

They have decided they need to undo the 2016 election.

Well the truth about the Russian collusion investigation is being uncovered everyday now.  The reports that are about to come out will help expose the corruption that took place under the Obama Administration.   It appears they placed corrupt people deep in our government.  There will be names and indictments.

Stay tuned!

 Talk about a wicked web.

Trump has put a for sale sign on the USA in exchange for dirt, real or fabricated, on his political opponents, for his own personal gain.

Trump publicly broadcast to the world Trump INC is open for business and ready to make a deal.

Trump might be immune from prosecution while in office,  and he has captured the DOJ under Barr, but the rest of these guys, Rudy Giulani, Mike Pompeo, William Barr, and all their enablers in the White House, in Governmet,  and in Congress are not.
