Congrats!!! You have found a new "one size fits all" comment. A year ago it was "alt-right" and now you have found the "Q" (all six of them).

I am not sure one opinion piece qualifies as an entire media backing something but the author does bring some interesting points. If Congress is only the handmaiden of the president, "I work for the president", Nunes, then what is the point of 3 branches of government.  In short, Congress needs to do its job and stop this man from destroying America.  If not, we need to make some changes and FAST. The following is from the point-of-view.

“Congress is more dependent on the President than he is on Congress,” reads the petition. “The President has the elements of power; Congress has but words: he can act; Congress can but talk.” The pamphlet printed in 1868 offers that a constitutional monarchy is still a monarchy, and the exorbitant powers of the executive branch are borrowed from monarchs, which make it impossible to hold a president accountable. And if the president is above the law, they argue, he’s an autocrat and not a (small d) democrat.

Looks like the GOPerLords have tripped over another Bright Shinny - the very old and shopworn idea we can dispense with the Presidency - to use to try and divert public attention from the perpetual Train Wreck that is the Trump administration.

Also looks like their dupes have picked up this dubious ball and are trying to run with it. Sad.

It would be wise to read the topic post before posting. That was you would not seem to be posting with all the depth of hackneyed buzz words like GOPerLords and Bright Shinny.

The only "was" for the topic to be meaningful would be if the Progressives were as easy to deceive as the Republicans. But op-ed's in USATODAY are as close as any Trumpette will ever get to actual news reporting, so completely understandable why you might think the article supports the nonsense topic, which is just another Bright Shinny the GOPerLords flung out there to distract the easily desperate to be distracted.

it was only ONE writer on the NYT who floated the notion

I do not see USA Today in that - but Bright Shinny and GOPerLords - and, of course, Trumpettes were all included.

This idea has been floated multiple times over the past 160 years. There is little chance that it will go any farther this time than it has previously.

Even if the idea gets any traction, Trump will be long gone before the idea could be implemented, even if he gets re-elected in 2020.

If "thet" don't know, then "thet" haven't been watching - just as two perfect examples - MSNBC and CNN.

"Thet" could put on Morning Joe right now as a perfect example.

"Thet" COULD be, but since it was only ONE writer on the NYT who floated the notion, all rk can come up with is his weak-knee-jerk against actual broadcast news sources who do not repost whatever Hannity says, as is the case with several of our rw patrons.

That makes no sense. rk was defining the "liberal media" for  a poster who didn't seem to understand the term.

And who is this ONE writer for the NYT of yours?? Was she the one who told you that the feds used to pay 75% of all college and university costs?

@easyed598........More and more I see a group who must have been so coddled all their lives they simply don't know how to handle when things don't go their selfish way. If I survived Obama, I know I can survive anything. Just as a note: Doesn't matter a rat's patoot about the color of his skin.

Despite total and unwaivering opposition from GOPers, President Obama lifted the Nation out of the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression, cut the jrbush deficit of $1.4Trillion/year by 79%, reduced inflation to near ZERO, created 14 million new jobs, provided affordable health insurance for 34 million Americans while slowing the growth in health care costs to the lowest level since the 1960's.

President Obama saved the city of Benghazi from total destruction and toppled Kaddaffi without losing a single American life, reduced our insane involvement in Iraq so the flood of flagdraped coffins jrbush unleashed was reduced to a tiny trickle, provided meaningful relief for millions of students and recent college grads from the oppressive burden of their education loans while ending the massive fraud being perpitrated by for-profit schools like Trump University.

And yet GOPers insist it was a HORRIBLE 8 years and their feelings had nothing to do with the color of his skin.

Yeah, right.

As to the topic, it sound like you disagree with the idea of abolishing the Presidency and instead would like to abolish the Republican Party.

And some nonsense about lowering healthcare costs to the 1960s level.......

And then some vague racist comment to wrap it all up......

It's obvious to all sane and rational people worldwide that - in the best interests of the long term health, welfare and long term existence of the democratically elected representative republic of the United States of America - treasonous comrade trump and his equally treasonous and unpatriotic followers and supporters - all of whom are plainly and obviously enemies of the nation as it existed prior to trump's treasonous and dishonest maladministration - are the furthest possible thing that could be considered to be good for the nation - the majority of whose Citizens didn't vote for trump, and unquestionably never will vote for trump...

What kinds of Personal Abuse - Economic - Cultural - Ethnic - Religious - Social - did you suffer under 8 years of Obama...................

BTW - Obama was elected Twice by a Majority of American Voters - Trump became President by getting the approval of 4 million fewer American Voters than his opponent

Trump became President by getting the approval of just 306 American Voters out of a total of 125 Million who Voted for President in 2016

For the Last 5 Decades - Republicans have COMPLAINED - The US Presidency and US Presidents are increasingly involved in Power Grabs - Abuse of Power - Expanding Presidential Authority

Now Republicans are Purposefully Supporting Autocracy

Republicans and conservatives have complained loudly lately that President Obama has been resorting to non-democratic and unconstitutional governance; imperiously ignoring the so-called “will of the people” by issuing a cascade of new executive orders.

According to Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Mr. Obama is acting “like a king” by issuing his recent executive orders on gun control. Conservative author and radio talk show host Mark Levin contends that Obama’s executive orders are “un-American” and even “fascistic.”

On a hot day in late July, members of the House of Representatives took to the chamber's floor to make a momentous decision: whether to file an unprecedented lawsuit against the president of the United States.

The charge was electric. President Obama, they said, had violated his constitutional duty to faithfully execute the law.

When the voting closed, the House was 225 to 201 in favor of filing suit. All but 5 Republicans voted in favor — those opposed believed the lawsuit didn't go far enough.

Speaker John Boehner chided the Democrats: "Are you willing to let any president choose what laws to execute and what laws to change?"

No specific provision in the U.S. Constitution and no statute explicitly permits or governs executive orders, and on these grounds alone the “strict” constitutionalists insist that none are ever warranted.

You are the one continually making threads about Trump.  So are you slyly campaigning for him?  Sure does appear to be so.
