The above is the rebuttal to:

Under John Brennan, the CIA operated as an opposition research outfit for the Hillary Clinton campaign.

It appears from leaked news stories in the British press that Brennan’s oafish spying on Trump began around April 2016, right after Trump’s biggest primary victories. As it became urgently clear to Brennan that Trump was going to face off against Hillary, Brennan turned to “intelligence partners” in Europe for dirt on Trump. But they didn’t have any, save some pretty skimpy material on “contacts” between Trump campaign officials and Russians.

Whatever Brennan collected was so insubstantial that Robert Mueller hasn’t even interviewed him about it. Consider that for a second: Mueller was supposedly appointed to complete the counterintelligence probe into Trumpworld, and he hasn’t felt the need to talk to the father of it. Brennan has tried to explain this astonishing discrepancy away by vaguely saying that whatever Mueller needs he could find in “CIA files.”

In his own clumsy way, Brennan knew that he was treading on a political minefield. He referred to the FBI/CIA’s spying on the Trump campaign as an “exceptionally, exceptionally sensitive issue.” That helpful crumb comes from Russian Roulette, the book by David Corn and Michael Isikoff.

CriticalThinking:  PanJ, why are they incapable of seeing what's so obvious to everyone else? The only answer is cult behavior.

PanJ: You're right, it's cult behavior. Total acceptance of and belief in Trump overrides any criticisms even when proof is provided. That's unhealthy.

PanJ, here's a perfect example. When cult members are provided with  non-stop conspiracy theories about an FBI agent allegedly lying, they go bonkers, demanding immediate action and discpline against the agent. (They don't need factual proof)

But their hero and leader in the White House is a pathological liar who lies about everything, and it never bothers them. Can there be a larger double standard?

Only in the fetid brains of the far right could a conspiracy theory this absurd take root and grow.

First off, the true strength of the American Government is in the millions of partiotic, hardworking and honest Americans who come in every day to make it work.

Republicans hate this, because they know it cannot be controlled and turned into a political weapon, so they have been turning functions over to contractors who have allegience to their stock holders, not the Constitution.

But the ONE place this privatization has not been effective is our intelligence services, albeit Republican refusal to increase staffing levels has turned a lot of the "cataloging" of intelligence over to private firms like TRW who then hire the likes of Chris Boyce (The Falcon) who sell our secrets to the Soviets, so instead of GOPerLords controlling the operation we have folks with much lower pay and loyalty undermining our Nation for our enemies.

Seems to me Republicans have been told to discredit all our Intelligence Services in order to prop up Der Trumpers legal defense when he's impeached, removed from office and tried for Treason. If there's another legitimate goal involved here, I'd like to hear it.

Once again, no attribution to the media outlet from which this was copied VERBATIM.

The media outlet,  the neo-conservative American Spectator, is owned by The American Spectator Foundation, a non-profit, that is clearly influenced, through monies received, by the KOCH BROTHERS themselves.

Enough said.

jimc91:  Many questions in all of this remain unanswered, but this much is clear: John Brennan’s transformation of the CIA into a branch office of the Hillary campaign will go down as one of the grossest abuses in the agency’s history.
