Yes they will. And they will continue to, along with the players.

Who will lose? The players and my guess is very few are "conservative". If every player was replaced tomorrow nothing would change in society... they add very little to the fabric of America. It's a sport, a game... if everyone was replaced tomorrow, then on with the game. Look at college football.

But the "everyone" won't be "replaced tomorrow", will they?  In fact, in light the the entire NFL, owners, and players are supporting the protesters, likely none will "be replaced". The NFL is nothing like "college football".

Why is it conservatives are thrust into the conversation and must be thought of as evil by suggesting they "worship" money? Conservatives , like you and me can just be wrong about issues, or right ... but to state categorically they're money worshipers is just plain false judgement on your part.

Cons thrust themselves into issues like these, just look at the extreme right commenting on Face Book and other chat sites about how everyone should now boycott the NFL. Boycotting the NFL is a pocketbook protest, so you are once again wrong.

It is part and parcel to making the other person moral aberrant when the argument fails.

Yes it is, so stop doing that.

You guys need to realize when you're being played by Trump.

What has been accomplished? The NFL players aren't backing down, the NFL owners aren't backing down, the NFL isn't backing down. The protest spread, more players take part, the American people watch more NFL then ever.

Trump tweets himself into a corner for his own reasons and you guys all goosestep into the corner with him.

You think the NFL is shooting itself in the foot?

I think you guys are being played.

This started before Trump was President. So, there are issues that go deeper than anything he says.

The offensive "goosestep" adds nothing to the discussion.

Do you know what his complaint with America is and what it would take to make him proud to be an American??

Have you given any thought to the possibility that sports mean more than money to many, many people -conservatives, liberals, and independents? The NFL is the organizing body that kept the game going and competitive over the years as a service to fans.

Many of the players make fabulous salaries. Do you suppose they are all conservatives?

@GS

Jerry Jones did it right. Kneel before the game publicly together as a team, LIKE IT HAS BEEN DONE FOREVER, in defiance or prayer. You then can even raise your hand to God or your fist against whatever.

When NFL tickets are selling for $14 and there are still empty seats ... no, the NFL is not filling the stands or watching more. Fans protest too.

The seat attendance is down mostly because it's cheaper in the parking lot and more fun.... and any game can be watch anywhere on any devise in the comfort of your home or sports venue.

Is The NFL Shooting Itself In The Foot?

"Ever since then-San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick started taking a knee when the anthem played last season, Americans have argued fiercely on the merits of this particular brand of protest.

Conservatives have seen it as outrageous disrespect for the troops and the nation itself. Liberals and ESPN have portrayed it as a courageous act of defiance against racism and police brutality.

The debate hasn’t gone away this season, with more players participating in the protest while Kaepernick remains unemployed.

Trump has spent most of the weekend doubling down on his comments, as well as bringing the NBA into the matter, in the face of liberal outrage. The president’s opinion brought forth accusations that he was trying to take away the constitutional rights of Americans and that his sentiment was racist by nature.

In response to the president attacks, dozens of NFL players publicly criticized the president and joined in the anthem protests on Sunday. As one example, multiple players from both the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars took the knee while the anthem played during their game in London. Curiously, they all stood for “God Save the Queen.”

Several commentators, primarily from the Left, saw more players joining the protest as a major defeat for the president, but they’re off the mark. Folks like New York magazine’s Jonathan Chait think that Trump has turned the kneel into a free speech issue, which is going to naturally earn the sympathy of average Americans.

In reality, Trump has taken the side of the flag and provoked multi-millionaire athletes into opposing patriotism. When several players for the New England Patriots took a knee during the anthem on Sunday, their own fans booed them. So do fans of the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins when members of those respective teams knelt. (RELATED: Football Fans Boo Players Protesting National Anthem)

There are hardly two more liberal, anti-Trump areas in America than the Boston and D.C. metropolitan areas. Yet even football fans who live there can’t stand protests against the anthem.

Rather than earning sympathy for free speech, more players joining in the protest is more likely to alienate NFL fans from the game. Polling last year showed that an overwhelming majority of Americans thought that politics should be kept off the field. The number one reason for declining NFL ratings was due to national anthem protests, according to ESPN, of all places.

Hardcore Patriots fans booing their own team is not a good sign that the NFL is going to come out on top in its war with the president."
