You guys need to realize when you're being played by Trump.

What has been accomplished? The NFL players aren't backing down, the NFL owners aren't backing down, the NFL isn't backing down. The protest spread, more players take part, the American people watch more NFL then ever.

Trump tweets himself into a corner for his own reasons and you guys all goosestep into the corner with him.

You think the NFL is shooting itself in the foot?

I think you guys are being played.

This started before Trump was President. Yep.  Police have been killing blacks unnecessarily for many decades. The subject is the "taking a knee" So, there are issues that go deeper than anything he says.  yep.  Racism is imbedded in US history....it's time we let go of it. Agreed. What do the players specifically want President Trump to do?

trump took credit last March that Kaepernick remains a free agent because owners are afraid of getting a tweet from trump. I have no idea how that relates to the "taking the knee".

If I were "in charge", you wouldn't be here.

I'm not surprised. That is a typical neoMarxist view of "free speech".

It would be no loss to lose a poster from this site who doesn't know what 'racism' means, what 'neo-Marxism' means, what 'liberal' means, what 'socialist' means, what 'White Supremacist' means, what 'Alt-Right' means, what 'neoNazi' means' ..............

It has nothing to do with "free speech", it has to to with trolling, insulting, staying off-topic, insulting, personal attacks, name calling, etc, etc.................

Hey - we need to keep a couple around so that we can say "but for the grace of god, I could have ended up being like that"...

He calls me a "neo-Marxist" for saying he wouldn't be here if I were in charge. Since I would be doing no different than Trump does, I guess he sees Trump as a "neo-Marxist"? How nice for him to clarify that for us !

Yes it is, so stop doing that.

Well, there ya go - he/she/it who is in charge has spoken.

So that means that trump is a neoMarxist who would fire anyone who doesn't speak and behave as he desires?

Didn't Stalin do that sort of thing a lot?

Had dissidents sent to gulags, Siberia, or designated as mental patients...

Surely you read "Gulag Archipelago", and "A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch"...

I remember reading a handwritten mimeographed translation of "Ivan Denisovich" in my high school Russian History class in 1963...

trump and Stalin - butt-buddies in fascist repression...

Nope.  More like opening the way for Trump's numbers to fall with his base. The NFL folks area the people who donated and supported Trump. Now, they are done with him.  Yes Trump is MAGA by providing a mutual target so we can all rally around his image burning in effigy.  Did you really think he could make things this bad in less than a year?

I have seen no suggestion about any burning in effigy. You'll have to expand on that.

On the other hand, it is your side of the "great divide" that regularly burns the American flag.

As to him making things bad - what has he done to make things bad that the players are unhappy about? And, again, what should he do to get them back on their feet, standing tall as proud Americans?

He's still dogwhistling - still is a white supremacist/racist - remains an international embarrassment -  really ought to resign for the good of the Nation.

Sure looks like deep inside - he loves himself more than America...

This should put Der Trumpers approval down another 15 points, not because everyone supports players protesting racism but because all but his dumbest drones will finally wake up to the fact the **bleep** has no clue what to do as POTUS. He thinks his job is to stage fake camapign rallies with HIM as the centerpiece, and when he tries to do something related to Government, he starts wars or ends alliances. Only the most demented of the deplorables will continue to support him.

Have you seen any specifics about racism that has them kneeling? And, equally important, what has happened to increase racism this football season to make it different from last season?

On the other hand, Kaepernick is a fan of Che Guevara and once wore socks showing the police as pigs. Do you suppose all those new kneelers and his fans here are of like mind as Kaepernick with regard to Che and the police?
