Let us be clear. Trump hates Rubio and is not real fond of most of the Republicans. On the other hand, Trump has not been able to handle getting immigrants more than 40 miles from the border before he drops them off in our streets so I would not look for him to be able to put together a plan to FLY these people to Florida in order to start their trek into America's interior.

Here in New Mexico, we usually connect to an unofficial sponsor and get them out within 48 hours. Team Trump dropped off a group in an empty lot last weekend because they could not find the gymnasium which was their target.

Just sayin' the man is a moron.

Just saying - do you really think the President twas driving the bus ?

The problem with Florida is the area. San Diego is too accustomed to see illegals and have been for years.
Now Broward County which included Ft Lauderdale, and Palm Beach county have not. and the property there is high in price and these people are going to see and perhaps feel their property values go down.

Those people are mostly  imports from the North, New York Conn.  and other eastern cities. and have gone there for retirement or vacation. that is not what they expect to see. and I can assure you that they won't like it.

Rubio will become vulnerable not only because of the amount of Puerto Ricans already in that area that came because of the hurricane and that are pissed with Trump about what he has done with their island.

And now, he will piss off a bunch of Jews and other that have come to the area to relax and escape from the cold.

Great combination to mix all these things together and come up with another Democratic Senator and more blue votes  against.t Trump.

I can't speak for how Florida will handle it but in Texas and New Mexico we have established volunteer transit centers.  When the immigrants are released the volunteers contact relatives and friends in the interior and arrange for paid travel to  whichever city these unofficial sponsors live.  The immigrants are averaging around 48 hours before they are passed along.

When this all started, two years ago, CBP and Ice would release the immigrants outside the detention centers in Republican Texas.  When that started converting Texas Republicans to independents and even Democrats they started driving them up to 40 miles directly to the volunteer processing centers.

Now they want to buy air tickets for each immigrant for travel to Florida.

The question to ask is why this administration is having so much trouble administering this problem. They have the same laws as before and fewer immigrants.  You should know my feelings on the competence level of this administration but why do you think they are having so much trouble doing what has been done for decades?

Plan seems to be to fly or bus them to other places too -

San Diego, Detroit are a few places as well as South Florida - I am sure more places will be added.

Texas agents will do an abbreviated intake of those it sends to other places to gather basic biographical information and do medical screenings to make sure the family members are well enough to travel.

Upon arrival in (other places), migrants, under the current plan, will go to a Border Patrol’s Brown Field Station, though that may change based on individual station capacity.  Agents there will conduct a full intake of the migrants, which includes taking fingerprints and photographs. That process can take several hours.

Agents will not know how many of the migrants are asylum seekers until they are processed.

For San Diego, No unaccompanied children will be included in the flights, but agents are preparing for the possibility of fraudulent family claims when the migrants arrive. Children can be separated from adults whom immigration officials determine are not actually their parents, and those children become unaccompanied minors in the system.

Just curious, Gail, so does that make this all right/good?  IMO, until Congress can take responsible immigration reform measures, this fight will continue to divide us...just like it was meant to do! The President is just using his own authority and saying to hell with the democratic process this country is suppose to stand for!

If you guys are not loving any of this, I really don't know. He is playing with Florida who  at this point is purple, but this will turn them against Republicans.

As far as Rubio. he deserves it. just like Cruz he has not had the gut to stand up for his convictions. and now that the NRA is in trouble, his funds may not be that clear.

Palm Beach, imagine right near Mar Lago. in West Palm.
I suggest that many of them request employment at the resort. and then simply smile at Trump when they see  him,

Great, I can just see al of those rich Palm Beahc peopple dealing with all of this. they will  move. LOL LOL  LOL

The Locals seem SCARED -  THESE ARE UNACCOMPANIED MINORS AND FAMILY UNITS !

This is from the PBS station in South Florida

WLRN 05/16/2019 - Palm Beach, Broward Reject Federal Plan To Ship Migrants From Border: 'This Is Not...

Authorities in Broward and Palm Beach counties are rejecting a new plan by Border Patrol that would deliver around 1,000 migrants every month to South Florida, arguing that it would burden the already overstretched resources of the counties and could put communities in danger.

"It's not a good plan. We think it's a danger for this community," said Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw in a joint press conference with Palm Beach County Mayor Mack Bernard.

Bradshaw explained that Border Patrol recently informed them of a plan to ship 135 migrants twice a week from El Paso, Texas, and split them between Broward and Palm Beach counties. "We are being told they are family units but we don't know what that means, we don't know the composition [of the groups]," he said.

Nobody has told the Governor.

Nobody at the WhiteHouse has verified it with NPR as of yesterday.

However, there is a government contract posted wanting bids for moving around UAC (Unaccompanied Children) and Family units of immigrants - LOTS of Them.

Share and Share Alike - How many can your community take?  Step Up America !

What do you want to do with them, we have a urgent humanitarian crisis situation - house them in camps until their court date?  Where?  Where is the UN?  Where is Canada?

We already have lots of CBP agents now listening to credible fear claims - want them to tell them, We are pulling TSP employees to go to the border for more help.  Do you want to send them back to whence they came?

THIS IS NOTHING NEW - You might think this next quote is recent but it is not - it was back in 2014 when President Obama was handling the huge influx (but not as many as now) of UAC.

TIME.com 07/08/2014 - Obama in Political Bind Over Unaccompanied Immigrant Minors

. . . . immigrants’ rights advocates argue that the conditions in Central America and the length of the journey justify temporary placement in American homes and schools, even when there are no immediate signs of suspected criminal trafficking or refugee claims. Leslie Holman, the president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, has condemned the White House proposal to expedited removal of Central American children. “That is simply unconscionable,” she said Monday in a statement. “No matter what you call it, rapid deportations without any meaningful hearing for children who are rightly afraid of the violence and turmoil from which they fled is wrong, and contradicts the fundamental values of this nation.”

OR even better. . .

Reuters 05/28/2014 - Waves of immigrant minors present crisis for Obama, Congress

What is new here. It has been happening in my State for a long time now. They bring them to our largest city and drop them off. The City is about 250 miles north of the border. This has been going on for months now. There are charities who house, feed, and see that they get any medical help needed. The City has put up funds for this, and the State Fair Board is now opening up the fair complex to house them. State is also supplying funds. Most are out of the area in 72 hours on their way to their sponsors location. State is billing Fed. Govt so we will see if they ever get reimbursed.  Guess what is happening. The City has to supply police protection to the people running the operation, city council members who voted funds to help, and others who helped. Why? The far right is making threats to harm them. Our far right at work destroying the USA. FL should follow our example and help. Now there will be more far right to make threats against the good people helping, and there will be more far right since the ones from GA, and AL can get to the area quickly. Our far right will then be destroying America again as they love to do.
