Top Intel Dem says Trump’s pardon sends message to targets of Russia probe: “I have your back”

Rep. Adam Schiff made the crucial point that Donald Trump's pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio could be taken as a message of support to anyone targeted by the special counsel's investigation into Russian election interference.

When Donald Trump pardoned racist former Sheriff Joe Arpaio, it was more than just sending a message to white supremacists that he is firmly on their side.

The top Democratic lawmaker on the House Intelligence Committee thinks it could also be a signal to Trump’s cronies who are under investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

A triple hit for Trump?  Pander to the Nazis, threaten people resisting with defacto concentration camps by pardoning Arpaio, and protect himself by sending a message of support to anyone targeted by the special counsel in the Russian election interference.

Map of **bleep** . Just an FYI: Arapaio was a sheriff of Maricopa county...which is not on the border.    When 1/3rd of the county is Hispanic, then the racist / white nationalist had an easy time of targeting this population, based on race - which is why Donald went there to make spread his racist screed.

The remainer of the complaints against this information is typical of those who want to downplay the significance of Donald's recent statements in Phoenix and then his follow-up.

    A subset here are essentially saying that they approve of this camp and not see any comparison between this camp in Maricopa county and countries that used this sort of camps, which are named:   Concentration Camps

Well, in the place pictured above you get there via a sentence from the courts (nothing to do with the Sheriff nor the President) - and, when your sentence is up, you leave. Not the general scheme of things in concentration camps.

I believe the pardon was done for political reasons and the impact on the Russia investigation was just the cherry.  It is encouraging that Ryan is weighing in against this and it is starting to look like all the "unwritten rules" are going to have to be legislated after Trump's impeachment.

You may be right about politics involved. But I believe it is about the politics of a secure border.

So, Arpaio is told by the court to stop. He refuses to stop. You are saying a law officer violating a court order is constitutional and for border security?

Arpaio violated the Constitution and the law.  Many times I have pointed out the undocumented immigrants peacefully raising families and contributing to America only to be told they had to go because they were here illegally. Arpaio violating a court order is illegal.

No, I am saying - You may be right about politics involved. But I believe it is about the politics of a secure border. (the point being responded to) I made no comment on how being illegal is O.K. if you've gotten away with it for a long time.

And, just imagine - a person being told they had to leave because they were here illegally!!! Who wudda thunk it??

Joe's pardon was nothing but red meat for his lofo base AND a shot across Muellers bow letting him know Lemontop will simply pardon any family member or political hack supporting Der Trumper, so Mueller should just pack up and go home.

1) Adam Schiff has been on TV just about every day with some sort of a charge against our President. He was one of the early "Russia" theorists;

2) "Pander to the Nazis"?? Where did that come from?;

3) Concentration camps?? Seems a bit heavy on emotion and a bit light on facts - although, it has become the meme du jour;

4) It is known that there was Russian interference, it has been known for a few years. How does that get into this? I'd prefer to think that Americans - regardless of Party - are looking to resolve the threat.

re1. Der Trumper's Russia Connection is an established fact. The only questions are how much does Lemontop owe the Russian Mob, Oligarchs and Government - a single number will suffice, those groups have become interchangable. What needs to be determined is how much did he and his vassals do to facilitate the Russian hacking of the 2016 election and how much FSG (nee' KGB) information did Trump use to slander Hillary.

re2: From Der Trumper's speeches, tweets and pardons. Strange you didn't hear them.

re3. Hitler didn't build Auschwitz FIRST. FIRST were special "hospitals" to deal with the seriously mentally challenged by putting them out of their misery. Then came much larger holding areas to "re-educate" those who didn't fit in to the New Society because they were beset with other serious mental problems like being a Gypsy or a FreeMason or not having a job. Since Reagan got rid of all the mental health facilities, Sheriff Joe has moved right to the second stage.

re4. Yes, we must RESOLVE the issue of Russian interference, but Der Trumper has been threatening all involved ranting this must NOT get into his "personal finances", which is the only place the Russians would have any real leverage on him, since all the things a normal person could be blackmailed for, Der Trumper brags about.

The usual gobbly-**bleep** with cutesey phrases but, bottom line - no one has ever questioned businessman Trump's worldwide business involvements.

re2: From Der Trumper's speeches, tweets and pardons. Strange you didn't hear them.

Since the topic is "pandering to the Nazis". So, a bit more will be needed from you.

Does that mean any time anyone builds a hospital, they are really on the way to gas chambers and ovens?? Or does it simply mean you are "out there" as usual?

The subject is and has been for quite a while Russian involvement - not the President's tax filings.

I'd like to do that. But, unfortunately I have been quite busy and had to cancel our regular Thursday get together.

A thought though - has "President" Trump filed any taxes yet or is it "businessman" Trump that you are concerned about?

Since "president" Trump has refused to separate himself from his former business dealing, they are now a legitimate concern for anyone looking into Der Trumper's behavior as POTUS.

The facts are thus: Der Trumper was such a disasterous business partner, no western bank would lend him money for his schemes, so he borrowed at least $300Million from Deutsche Bank. DB is obviously a "western bank", but DB is also a "corrospondant bank" for Trasta Komercbanka in Latvia. This means DB provided dollar-denominated services to Trasta’s non-resident Russian clients. This service was used to move money from Latvia to banks across the world.

Trasta Komercbank is the largest source of money laundering for the Russian Mob, Oligarchs and Government. The Latvian Government shut down Trasta in 2016, about the time Der Trumper won the Republican nomination.

If the source of Der Trumper's $300Million (probably much more) is in reality Trasta Komercbank, and Trasta was using "laundered" money from the Russian Mob/Oligarchs/Government, it would explain Der Trumper's strange Bromance with Putin AND how the Russian Government became involved with providing assistance to the Trump Campaign.

THAT is something that needs a great deal of investigation by the Special Prosecutor. If there is no conncetion between Der Trumper and the Russian Mob, Oligarchs, Government, then WHY is he so adimant that his personal financial dealings be excluded from all Government investigations?

When did he do that?? If he is violating some law (and there had been much discssion in DC about this) aren't there officials to deal with it? Or maybe thisnis another job for antifa.

When looking to do business in any Nation a first step is to get the "lay of the land" so you can approach the situation from a position of knowledge.

But, that is just the way business works. Now we have "President" Trump who has to deal with nations from a different perspective. For example, as a businessman, I doubt he had a lot of concern for Kim's wackiness.

FoxNews and Limblah. You can see the dilemma.  Not really trustworthy sources of factual information.

Yes. Interestingly, that is not the first time that has come up recent;y. Do you guys offer each other advise as to how to deal with logic that counters your biases?

But, back to the topic - what about my words of wisdom above confuses you the most?? Try to deal with it yourself, without concern for "Limblah" or Fox.

I had not thought of this but I assumed Trump was going to issue at least one pardon to save his hide. That should prove very interesting as Flynn and Mannaford are the two must obvious targets for a deal with prosecutors. Giving Flynn a pardon for dealing with the Russians or Mannaford one for money laundering is going to dip the Republican brand in a new kind of excrement.

Plus, once Trump grants a pardon, both can be compelled to testify as they can no longer incriminate themselves (they have a get out of jail free card). They could lie but if they get caught they would go to jail. If Trump tried to pardon them a second time, said excrement really would hit the rotary ventilating device.

Honored Social Butterfly

I truly believe Trump has a personality disorder.   And he's a moral reprobrate.   Anyone who relies on his word about saving their hide in a criminal investigation is a complete **bleep**.     Lack of morals + mental illness = disaster.
