Re: How do you respond to "Have a blessed day"?

I am still trying to understand the rational behind this "ambush sermon" approach to saying goodbye.  Now, I ask "Hey, fun fact! Did you know that is the ancient blessing of the Wiccan religion.  You know, witches and stuff?  Have a good day."

I don't want to be rude but I want them to stop edging their religion into the conversation.  I never say "May you continue to have health insurance in this backward country".

Image result for humor is mankind's greatest blessing

btw....I received a "have a blessed day" last week.  I responded, "Party on, Garth."  It just seemed to fit the mood at the time.

The question is - can the action of a moderator closing a thread be flouted as it has been here?

I appreciate it when someone tells me to "Have a blessed day".

I usually say "God Bless You!" & smile. I believe that there is

power in speaking God's word & prayer. There have been many

times when someone says "have a blessed day" , it has changed

a negative thought that was nagging me into a positive thought.

That was decades ago.  My only connection with the business today is that I use their services.

When I was associated with a wholesale electrical and refrigeration business we had no problem giving our contractor customers a hard time, in fact it was expected.  Several would occasionally bring their wives in to show how rude we were and what they had to put up with.  Those times we were real polite and respectful which would make their wives wonder about them.  But eventually we'd let the wives in on what we were doing.

Both of our families have witnessed it for years, think it's hilarious, and a couple of the grandkids are doing it.

We're down with that.

We've cautioned them to make certain there aren't any adults around (teachers, etc) that could cause them unnecessary trouble.
