If the bottom line is greater then they have to do something with this money to keep down the taxes - two things come to mind:

(1) PAY THE SHAREHOLDERS MORE - dividends

                                OR

(2) PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES MORE in salary or benefits

                                OR

(3) INVEST IN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS - new equipment / better equipment / more robotics

Either way, the Executives involved in the salary tax cap are still gonna be making less - tax-wise from the company's standpoint (bottom line).

Seems you left out the thing they actually did:

(4) BUY BACK OUTSTANDING STOCK - to increase the value of their personal holdings and reduce outside interference (aka "oversight") from the owners of the company (aka "stockholders").

Corporations are NOT people and if you want to change the behavoir of the PEOPLE who direct each and every action of the Corporation, you must effect THEM, not the Corporation.

If you want to have the slightest chance of causing your 1-3 happening, REPEAL THE REAGAN TAXSCAM so the Executives cannot keep all the money they give THEMSELVES and are left with your highly benefitical to the Nation options.

Just didn't want anyone harboring the illusion that lil donny's scam actually helped the Nation and not the Corporate Oligarchs. The paultry wage increases seen after the Trump Scam represent a tiny fraction of the additional PROFIT the workers created through increased productivity in their Corporation. Not everyone got a raise, because productivity did not increase "across the board", mostly because of bad Corporate Oligarch decissions - failure to invest in training and technology, outsourcing that cut quality which cut sales, etc.

Maybe I didn't word my question quite right -

If the executive performace pay amount over $ 1,000,000 is NOT tax deductible for the company - they will have a greater bottom line for which they could have taxes appled if there is no other offsetting amounts like losses.

If the bottom line is greater then they have to do something with this money to keep down the taxes - two things come to mind:

(1) PAY THE SHAREHOLDERS MORE - dividends

                                OR

(2) PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES MORE in salary or benefits

To keep taxes down, if they choose one of the options above - more money should go back into the economy.

But on the other hand, it should show us all just how valuable these top executives are - especially at contract renewal time.  If they keep paying them and upping their performance pay - guess they are really valuable.

Just the way I see it.

The question you kept restating was "Do you think this action will help with inequality?"

So, exactly how does anything in your reply help with inequality??

I cannot positively say that it is ALL employees of the company, the IRS has a long definition of who is affected - Yes, it does cover major executives like CEO, CFO, COO.    It does not cover employees who are doing a job that may have risen to this size of a pay check.

Do you offer an answer to the question:

Do you think this action will help with inequality?
