The beauty of a Democracy is that you can vote for what you believe in. So, go ahead, vote for a Socialist. The majority rules gig, though, will almost certainly out-vote you.

And again, just like people who adore heat can move to Arizona, and people who adore an ocean view can move to the coast, while people who have little use for social services are free to move to the south, you are free to move to any one of those better countries if you like them more than America.

But as for me, the argument that XYZ does this, we should too, is worthless. We are America. We are different. And I say we are the best country on earth.

Pleasant journeys.

I have an idea for you, since you can find Venezuela not only on a map, but presumably on the planet, plus you think socialism is great. You should maybe consider moving to Venezuela. You can report to us about how great is the socialist system. Prove us wrong. Lead by your most excellent and trustworthy, not to mention brilliant, example.

Bon voyage!

Ah yes. "If you don't like the inefficient, ineffective, and unfair system we use here why don't you move to one of the few places in the world that does not do it better than America?"

He's a SOCIALIST... Don't you understand.... A SOCIALIST...

Ask one of our RWNJs about Socialism and see how long it takes for them to use Venezuela as an example. They can't find it on a map and they don't know anything about the economic system there but they really love to use it as an example. Last week, John McCain's daughter almost had her head explode when the host of the View suggested paid sick leave and healthcare for everyone, sounded like a pretty good idea.  Remember this is the woman who inherited a $20million forture but it took 20 seconds for her to bring up Venezuela. Perhaps the most significant thing about the rise of millennial socialism in the US is that it is forcing conservatives to articulate what exactly is so bad about a more equal system. Try telling people that only the very rich should have healthcare and paid sick live or a livable wage or a retirement plan that will actually feed them. I love to watch those discussions.

So, when they yell "But he's a SOCIALIST".  Just think of them yelling "But, he's IRISH" a few decades ago.  Same reaction from the millennial of today.

Since Trump took power, membership of the Democratic Socialists of America has leapt from 6,000 to 47,000 – and even conservatives are struggling to articulate what is so bad about free education and healthcare
