If I were you I would just use a few AARP Discounts (Dunk'N Donuts, movie theaters, car insurance, whatever. It will pay for your annual membership....and some. It would save you the grief and you'll come out ahead. Then next year, just don't renew your membership. But if you want to write your president or call your Congressman....go ahead, knock yourself out.

NOW THAT I'VE DISCOVERED THAT MY MEMBERSHIP IS FUNDING SOCIALIST LOBBYING OBJECTIVES....I'D LIKE MY MONEY BACK! ALL ATTEMPTS SO FAR HAVE BEEN IGNORED....SO I'VE WRITTEN MY CONGRESSMAN. DOES ANYONE KNOW AN EASIER WAY TO GET A REFUND???? @1tonyg..... Have you tried calling AARP and asking? I did a long time ago and got my membership money back. Not sure it will work for you. May depend on how old the membership is. Also, I think it wise for you to ignore someone's snide remarks about this. You asked a question. Don't think you asked to be reprimanded.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP??

Why ask in the forums, why not contact AARP customer service?

What is the AARP socialist agenda?  Social Security and Medicare, supplemental health insurance for old people on Medicare?

https://www.aarp.org/about-aarp/contact-us/

I think the trolls come out about this time of the year on those years that end with an even number.

Tell me, are you going to also refuse SS and MediCare?  I'm glad to hear you are so wealthy that you have no use for fed. gov. programs and support.

Is anyone really so dumb as to write a congressman for a refund of $8.00 annual AARP dues?

Sadly, the answer is yes. They are the same folks who dial 911 when their Happy Meal is cold. No problem is too minor to inflate into an emergency requiring Official Intervention.

That is what I thought of.

As a military vet i have to say I would have rather spent time in a POW camp than to have to live in the same house with such a person so full of hate and distain for others.....I wonder if you have ever done anything to help any human being in your life....your selfishness really shows through.  Thank god for people who really care about the truth....and thank god for those who put their lives on the line so you can spout out your hate for this country.

No you wouldn't unless you want to live in Gitmo. They get better treatment than our prison population.

Not Exactly Zilch!  AARP Received $18 Million In Stimulus Money!

Apparently there is a pretty strong connection there. . .  sad, our Chicago Politics Government is just buying votes, campaign dollars, advertisement dollars and pay backs with OUR TAX DOLLARS!  And AARP will REALLY rack in the bucks with the Medi-GAP they will sell when this bill passes.  Wake Up, XO!  Wake Up, America!

Look into what that money is being used for. I think you will find it is being used to help people that need help.

If you didn't like a movie, would you write your congressman, or ask the person who sold you the ticket to refund your money?

If you didn't like your Big Mac, would you write your congressman, or ask the manager of the McDonald;s where your bought your burger?

If you lost your cookies on the Tilt-A-Whirl, would you ask the ticket seller for a refund, or write your congressman?

Is anyone really so dumb as to write a congressman for a refund of $8.00 annual AARP dues?

Whatever you do will be
insignificant, but it is very important thatyou do it.

~ Mahatma Gandhi

It is not the money... It's the
principle... To give AARP a notice of your opinion as to their
position on the issue of health care reform... Where by the
way... They will be in a position to make large sums of profits
off of seniors if health care reform is passed...
