Banning firearms talk is a fear mongering distraction. We know that will never happen and is not necessary , but hunters and marksman can survive very well with 10 Round Magazines.

Let's have some common sense talk and Outlaw Civilian 30-100 Round Magazines , Require Federal Background Checks for ALL firearm purchases including Private and Gun Show purchases !!!

A Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer should document ALL firearm purchases with proper Background Checks.

We document ALL Vehicles - why not Guns ?

Doubtful any hunter would want to carry around your 30-100 round magazines due to the weight of the rounds.  I would think even a target shooter would find that weight a distraction in shooting.  There are some states that already ban them.

I believe that each legal firearm already carries a serial number which is documented to the original purchasers.  From there investigations should be able to trace subsequent purchasers.  As far as vehicles documentation is a state function as it should be.

Tex says "Would you think that any lawmaker would want to end their political career by legislating to ban firearms? Even semi-automatics that are used in hunting and marksmanship? Hunters are not only Republicans, but also Democrats and Independents"

I would venture to say that 'IMO' is wrong.  There are probably as many killings collectively in places like Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit as there are with those mass killings.  But there isn't the outrage after weekend mayhem in those large cities as where they happen in a single incident.

And remember Texas is a huge state with seven distinct regions with differences in each.  So what's your point in concentrating on Texas?

Thanks for acknowledging the weapon was "obtained" legally.

Where did I say it was obtained legally?   Why was the ATF looking for the seller?

Okay, so some hunters prefer meat chopped so they don't have to work for it.

Thanks for that update; of hunters too lazy to actually do the hunt and butcher or too cheap to pay a butcher...

Apparently you are not familiar with deer hunting.   I've been given venison by deer hunting friends (including a brother-in-law) and it is not chopped.  That is a fable circulated by anti-hunting people.  After the deer is bagged, there are deer processing places where they butcher it into steaks, roasts, sausage, etc depending upon the cut.

Perhaps you would prefer for the deer to run wild and procreate, thus becoming more of a danger on roadways, invading yards and gardens as they become populous?  And also spreading diseases which could spread to domestic animals.

There is also a problem of wild hogs multiplying and creating hazards.

Of course not since the gun was illegally made by the seller.  Even its possession was against the law.  Perhaps you failed to note that it was advertised through questionable means?

Much like night poachers, imho, anyone who needs an auto or semi automatic weapon to "hunt" a North American wildlife animal is just poor trash; not even American. one and done...

btw, re "Note that in the latest incident the shooter obtain the gun illegally, and the gun itself was illegally made and sold"... the swm a 51 who aimed at my daughters' and their step-sis's backs could have owned any arm and DID and used those LEGAL arms to SLAUGHTER 58 people, including armed forces and civilian police members.

Now, would you prefer more of these incidents or should we no longer allow weapons of mass destruction within our United States?

just saying...
