Blah, blah, blah!

It wasn’t even a real vote.

And they looked stupid in the process.

They were just trying to embarrass AOC!

Mission failure!

let’s see some tax returns

Trying to embarrass AOC? Why try? She’s a walking, talking embarrassment generator 24/7!

She —the looniest of the possible dem contenders in 2020. That’s pretty looney!

@KidBoy2

The left is not asinine as you would like believe, and as you are prone to saying and calling names. At least we are trying to address reality and not the visions of trump’s lies.

And how do you know that the figures being thrown around are actual figures or were they figured on the back of a cocktail napkin? The New Green Deal is only in an overview proposal phase. Has there been a cost - benefit spreadsheet produced yet? And the number includes providing jobs and healthcare?

How about public opinion? Seems that quite a few would want some serious discussion concerning our future.

And it is political, and is your grand plan to do nothing...let the free market figure it out?...that hasn’t been working!

At least AOC has ideas, the repubs don’t

The Green New Deal Would Cost $93 Trillion, Ocasio-Cortez Critics Say

By ARI NATTER and BLOOMBERG February 25, 2019

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ambitious plan to fight climate change won’t be cheap, according to a think tank led by a former Congressional Budget Office director.

The so-called Green New Deal may tally between $51 trillion and $93 trillion over 10-years, concludes the center-right policy American Action Forum, which is run by Douglas Holtz-Eakin, who directed the non-partisan CBO from from 2003 to 2005.

That includes between $8.3 trillion and $12.3 trillion to meet the plan’s call to eliminate carbon emissions from the power and transportation sectors and between $42.8 trillion and $80.6 trillion for its economic agenda including providing jobs and health care for all.

“The Green New Deal is clearly very expensive,” the group said in its analysis. “It’s further expansion of the federal government’s role in some of the most basic decisions of daily life, however, would likely have a more lasting and damaging impact than its enormous price tag.”

Backers of the plan say cost of inaction would be more expensive. The resolution itself, released earlier this month by Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Democratic Senator Ed Markey points to a major report on global warming released by the United Nations last October that says catastrophic climate change could cost more than $500 billion annually in lost economic output in the U.S. by 2100.

“It is the moral economic national security issue of our generation,” Markey said in a recent interview.

Representatives of Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, and Markey didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Republicans have embraced the sweeping plan because they think they can use it to cast Democrats as extreme, take back seats in Congress and possibly keep the White House in 2020.

==========================================

This when our US Budget for 2019 is 4.407 Trillion. Do the math.

Everyone that I know is for addressing climate change. Our government is giving incentives to but all electric cars, which BTW are expensive and very few can afford to buy them...we have incentives to install solar panels and on and on. We are doing things to address climate change...could we do more ..yes, but we do not have to go to the extremes that AOC wants...she is not living in the real world.

BTW Climate change is not or should be a political issue, like people on this board are making it!

So what will you tell republican farmers

when their crops are flooded, or dried up due to extreme heat and no rain. And let’s also include crops going to waste and loss of markets due to trump’s insane trade and tariff policies.

And what is your magic act to educate people, when funding is being cut back and devos is destroying the educational system. And what capitalism? You mean the money being diverted to the wealthy and corporations. That’s not going to help the world’s poor.

Let’s not forget clean air and water!

WOW..that post sums up how asinine the left are when it comes to climate change and other topics. You sound like you would want us to do away with the free market system and become a Communist country were the government controls everything.

FYI Climate change is not or should be a political issue like AOC and her radical following want to make it.

Stupidity usually beings and ends with partisanship.

Unless we throw to the side our political beliefs and start by viewing in an objective manner whatever is presented to us. We will get nowhere.

I read something this new green deal and there were things that I liked and there were things that I thought wee not to my liking.
If the politicians would actually take that kind of attitude, then an only then they can govern and produce laws that will be of benefit for this country

No, no and no. That's a false narrative .

Climate change is real
The Earth is our home and we care
We are sportsman, farmers, ranchers and we are stewards of the land

When you eat your veggies or drink your wine or eat a burger thank republican farmers and ranchers.

People in polluted cities should live the example they want the rest of the world to provide first. The best thing that can happen is to educated the world's poor, increase their income through capitalism, so they have something to care about.
