The college  kids (young adults) in the town I live in had a protest on climate change today. I am proud of them and these young people are registered and ready to vote for candidates proposing action on climate change and other environmental issues. If our young people turn out to vote Republicans haven't a snowball's chance.

I feel sorry for old snowflakes who are living their second childhood in denial of actual climate science.

The Real Global Warming Disaster: Is the Obsession with "Climate Change" Turning Out to Be the Most Costly Scientific Blunder in History?
************************************************************************************************

1)   IF action is taken regarding global warming  ..the worst thing that comes out of it is that we have cleaned up the planet's air, water and pollution.

2)   IF global warming is a "scientific blunder"  the worst thing that will happen will be that  corporations will be required to stop their polluting habits even if it costs them money to do so.

3)     The following scientific organizations endorse the consensus position that "most of the global warming in recent decades can be attributed to human activities":
American Association for the Advancement of Science
American Astronomical Society
American Chemical Society
American Geophysical Union
American Institute of Physics
American Meteorological Society
American Physical Society
Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society
Australian Bureau of Meteorology and the CSIRO
British Antarctic Survey
Canadian Foundation for Climate and Atmospheric Sciences
Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society
Environmental Protection Agency
European Geosciences Union
European Physical Society
Federation of American Scientists
Federation of Australian Scientific and Technological Societies
Geological Society of America
Geological Society of London
International Union for Quaternary Research (INQUA)
International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics
National Center for Atmospheric Research
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Royal Meteorological Society
Royal Society of the UK
The Academies of Science from 80 different countries all endorse the consensus.

No need to "feel sorry" for intelligent, well informed and courageous people who use factual evidence as a basis for the truth they speak KidBoy2.
And  "obsession" applies to the ignorant who continually deny science and the overwhelming evidence science has produced regarding climate change and its causes.

She needs help with that obsession.
Wrong again KidBoy2.
She "needs" encouragement and praise for her courageous stance, doing the work adults should be doing!
Being unable to counter her brilliance with any factual evidence, the right resort to bullying and insults .... even at children!!!

Fox News apologises to Greta Thunberg for pundit's 'disgraceful' remark

Appearing on Fox News on Monday, the rightwing commentator Michael Knowles launched an extraordinary attack on Thunberg, 16, who is campaigning in the US to urge action on the climate crisis.

Knowles, a guest on Fox News’s The Story, was invited to discuss Thunberg’s speech and the climate crisis. He was dismissive of both.“If it were about science it would be led by scientists rather than by politicians and a mentally ill Swedish child who is being exploited by her parents and by the international left,” Knowles said.

A Fox News spokesperson subsequently told the Daily Beast: “The comment made by Michael Knowles who was a guest on The Story tonight was disgraceful. We apologize to Greta Thunberg and to our viewers.”

When Fox invited a right wing wacko to their show, they got what they wanted ..... AND FAR MORE!

If Fox was't the pathetic propagandist fake news program that it is, they wouldn't have to apologize.

Sorry Fox ..... too little too late!!!

But the politicians, pushed by the media, have so fallen for its propaganda that, short of dramatic change, our Western world now faces an unprecedented disaster.
I do not argue that it will be expensive to fix the damage which has been done. On the other hand, a U.N. study came out today that said the temperature of the oceans would continue to rise for 10-20 years even if we eliminated all C02 emissions today.  It gives you an idea of how much damage is going to be done before we can coast to a stop on this.
I would be interested in his definition of "dramatic change".  The conversion from coal and oil to solar and wind?  The introduction of electric vehicles? The dramatic drop in price of solar panels and the resulting savings for consumers who can now install them?

I’m with you concerning these demeaning comments. More appropriately here, what does it say about adults who try to shame teenagers who are speaking out, taking a stand, show concern, and make sense!

They too were probably shamed as well when they were younger....we can see the damage it causes.

Aren’t those attributes that we try to instill in young people...shame on adults who try to discredit the youths who are making an attempt for having a moral code.

And yet one poster prefers to bully one of the millions of teen girls....pathetic indeed!!!

Now why would an "intelligent" adult do that?

Author Christropher Booker

This original book considers one of the most extraordinary scientific and political stories of our time: how in the 1980s a handful of scientists came to believe that mankind faced catastrophe from runaway global warming, and how today this has persuaded politicians to land us with what promises to be the biggest bill in history.

Christopher Booker interweaves the science of global warming with that of its growing political consequences, showing how just when the politicians are threatening to change our Western way of life beyond recognition, the scientific evidence behind the global warming theory is being challenged like never before.

===========================================================

Interesting

Interesting, indeed.

From Wikipedia:

Christopher John Penrice Booker (7 October 1937 – 3 July 2019) was an English journalist and author. He was a founder and contributor of the satirical magazine Private Eye in 1961. From 1990 onward he was a columnist for The Sunday Telegraph. Booker was a global warming denier and in 2009, he published The Real Global Warming Disaster. He also disputed the link between passive smoking and cancer, and the dangers posed by asbestos. In his Sunday Telegraph section he frequently commented on the UK Family Courts and Social Services.

In collaboration with Richard North, Booker wrote a variety of publications advancing a eurosceptic, though academically disputed, popular historiography of the European Union. The best-known of these is The Great Deception.

So you mean that not only climate change, but passive smoking & cancer and asbestos dangers are conspiracy theories also?!

Interesting to also note is that Booker started his career as a member of a joke-writing team for a lampoon magazine and a political satirist for BBC.  (NOT that I'm inferring that has anything to do with it.  *wink! wink!*)

I might also point out that in the 21st century, there is a significant increase in the "handful of scientists" from the 1980s who support the catastrophe of climate change.
