Not sure how gullible GOPers can get, but TOTALLY and OFTEN seem to be the best possible answer.

HOW did a tiny newspaper in East Texas get this bombshell report on some unnamed German lying thru his/her zahne?

Obvious answer: From some Regressive propaganda and CT factory - after all, the paper spends most of its time praising the latest Best Confederate award winner, so actual news is not "home grown".

Now we need to figure out how anyone in America would post such outrageous lies...oh wait - it makes it sound like the ToadPOTUS was RIGHT! and those 150,000 DEAD Americans are really alive and living in some Republican "witness protection" program in the outback of Montana. That's all the incentive for lying any modern Republican needs.

Actually you are both right because it all depends on the comparison - death toll increases compared to what -

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/10/world/coronavirus-updates.html

A rising death toll in the United States has raised fears after months of declines.

Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Tennessee all set single-day death records this week. The seven-day death average in the United States reached 608 on Thursday, up from 471 earlier this month, but still a fraction of the more than 2,200 deaths the country averaged each day in mid-April, when the outbreak in the Northeast was at its worst.

The full article is here:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/10/us/daily-virus-death-toll-rises-in-some-states.html?action=click&...

Since there is a lag time in deaths compared to reported cases and hospitalizations the numbers MIGHT increase more but will it reach the heights of April when so many elderly in residential facilities were the casualties.  The average age of those who are being affected has decreased.

from the above link ~

“In the United States, we have increased number of cases over the last particularly three weeks,” Dr. Birx said during a virtual panel on the virus organized by the International AIDS Society. “We have not seen this result in increased mortality, but that is expected as the disease continues to spread in some of our large metro areas where comorbidities exist.”

. . . . Deaths occur weeks after infections, so any rise in deaths would be expected to come later than a rise in cases. But public health experts said the diverging trends — newly rising cases but still declining daily deaths — had occurred largely because the new surge of virus cases also involved many younger and healthier people, who were less likely to become seriously ill or die. Still, many experts predicted that the declining death tolls were unlikely to last because the young would spread it to older people and those more vulnerable.

Richva:  Just more fake news from the Regressive Movement.  "Pay no attention to the crowded hospitals and overflowing ICUs.  It is false alarm and will go away with warmer weather"

They're hilarious with the nutty attempts to downplay this disaster. If they were on the Titanic they'd be telling the crew to put the lifeboats away, the iceberg accident was overblown.

KennethD:  Nothing is changing. DEATHS ARE WAY DOWN. Only because TESTING is being done in larger numbers are there new cases. Most of those are mild with no symptoms or very light symptoms. Again the deaths are WAY DOWN.

Or deaths are down because the first lock down made a difference and now that the Country is opening back up again cases have started increasing (which they were going to do) which means that the LAGGING indicator of deaths that you are putting so much stock in will be going up in the weeks to come.

You've nitpicked merely one of several sources provided. You're clearly biased. You're cleary a moron. It's OK with you if they tear the country down, lay all of us off work, destroy the small business community, tell everyone they're not allowed to go to church, school, ball games, hair parlors, dance clubs, it's ok with you if we're not allowed to do anything here except for slaving away at our jobs and going out to get food. Yeah that's OK with you. The science goes against the lockdowns and the virus being a problem. the virus isn't a problem for the vast majority. what do you have to say about the UK Cheif Medic's statement above? How about Stanford University "almost 0%"? got nothing to say I see. Yeah, go figure.
