Trump wasted no time

Trump Blasts ‘Al Frankenstien’ on Twitter Over Alleged Groping

“The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words. Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps?” Trump tweeted.

Trump — who has been accused of sexual misconduct himself by numerous women — then added: “And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women. Lesley Stahl tape.” (The "Lesley Stahl tape," referring to a 1995 interview with New York Magazine in which Franken — then a writer for Saturday Night Live — discussed a purported skit that involved drugging and raping the CBS News reporter).

Franken became the latest powerful man to get called out for sexually predatory behavior on Thursday.

Franken's apology is one of honor and integrity, in my opinion.  It still does not excuse what he did.   But to me, it's the difference between a good man doing something bad, and a bad man (Trump, Moore) doing something bad.   And that difference matters.

Someone else has said that most men will be looking back on their past, reevaluating what they have done, and whether it was appropriate or not.  We cannot change the past, but we should not make excuses for this type of behavior.   And we need to educate people that it's never OK to use others for gratification (of whatever kind) without their consent.

Look at the evidence against Roy Moore.  He does not deny it.  But, I take your point.

So - is trump going to resign at the same time?

Trump should, you know...

He should.  No leadership skills at all and absolutely nothing to offer when it comes to statemanship.  Regarding matters like these.  He is a creepy old dud of a man.  He kinda has to keep his mouth shut.  Just like he's been told to do.  Pathetic.

Pretty sure Franken did not have to be told what to do.

Yes, Trump should resign and so should several other members of Congress. It is about time that our leaders should act like leaders and accept the consequences of their actions.

About the only good thing that is coming out about this is more women are speaking out instead of feeling guilty that it happened. There has been a habit in this country of shaming the victim and giving the perpetrator a pass.

The photo shows Franken making a adolescent gesture for the camera WITHOUT touching the young woman. Stupid, but he's sponsored a number of bills to prevent sexual harrassment and predition in the workplace, and apologized for any distress he may have caused his accuser.

He needs to stay right where he is so he can work against neoRepublicans wanting to protect and defend sexual predators like Moore and Der Trumper.

He (tRump) is useless on top of the ground - he should be under it - inspiring the cabbages...

A woman accused Senator Al Franken of groping her during his years as a comedian.  Franken issued a full apology for his actions.

This is how a statesman handles an issue.
