"Trump Derangement Syndrome"?? I have seen it referenced in at least one post on this thread and I would like to take a minute to explain what it really is.

First, it is not a real phobia but rather a shorthand for the phrase "You are just being mean to our little snowflake. The reason you don't like him is not because of all his failures but rather because you don't like him" (circular reasoning).  As more Americans decide there is something seriously, and perhaps clinically,  wrong with Trump, it makes it more necessary than ever to shorten the argument.

So, the next time you hear the phrase "Trump Derangement Syndrome", know that the poster is trying to find  a shorthand defense against all the Trump failures in policy, economic development, trade, and governance.  Let's face it....there ARE too many to mention.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 was signed into law by Ronald Reagan and allowed illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. before 1982 to be legalized.  (Reuters )

Since then there have been administrations and congress  that paid no real heed to immigration.     But it would have been better had the Donald not paid any attention cause his policies  has only  been expensive,  has created a mess and fixed nothing.

Family immigration has also come under attack–Trump has denigrated the process by calling it “chain migration,” even though his wife’s parents used family immigration to become U.S. citizens.   But even though it’s no longer in the news policy changes make it even more difficult at a time that it is a mess.

The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers

Report by Matt O'Brien and Spencer Raley | September 27, 2017 | View the Full Report (PDF)

Key Highlights
  • In 2017, the total cost of illegal immigration for the United States – at the federal, state, and local levels – was approximately $116 billion.

  • FAIR arrived at this number by subtracting the tax revenue paid by illegal aliens – about $19 billion – from the total economic impact of illegal migration, $134.9 billion.

  • In 2013, the estimated total cost of illegal migration was approximately $113 billion. So, in under four years, the cost has risen nearly $3 billion.

  • Evidence shows that the tax payments made by illegal aliens fail to cover the costs of the many services they consume.

  • A large percentage of illegal aliens who work in the underground economy frequently avoid paying any income tax at all.
  • Many illegal aliens actually receive a net cash profit through refundable tax credit programs

The rest of us are sitting back and watching Trump Making America Great Again. For decades the United States watch every country in the world take advantage of our economy to benefit their own   As for me and million others watching us make China Great can now say,   those days being over.

Yes I am sure that is the only thing you see and that is sad. Why don't you explain in  detail how every country in the world took advantage of our economy for their own benefit. Go 4 pages if you want. The more the better. The far right are  the biggest reason why Trump is able to destroy the country as they follow him blind. Look at what happened in Germany during the 1930 as Hitler came to power. Only 20% supported him but that was enough to allow him to become full Dictator and cause WW2. If you all followed some interviews done in Germany a few months ago there are still people alive from that time that think Hitler was really not to blame and was not to bad. That is the typical mind set of the far right, and why you will never change a lot of them no matter what Dictator Trump does.  You solve our present mess by getting Trump and all with an R behind their names out of office in 2020 if we have elections.

You raise a good point. Let's discuss the fact that Breitbart inflated the number of citizenship tourists by a factor of 1.000.

  1. The number of people doing this is so small as to be meaningless.
  2. These are now citizens of the United States and, 18 or 21 years from now, they may provide YUGE benefits to our nation.....or maybe not but they are no different than any other citizen.
  3. They have the right to do this based on the Constitution since the numbers involved are so much smaller than the Breitbart propaganda, I have no idea what the point of this thread might be.

Fox Viewers do NOT understand SCIENTIFIC Research which Meets Professional Standards.

CATO INSTITUTE

FAIR’s “Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration” Study Is Fatally Flawed

That's why Fox viewers depend on the flawed, FAIR study.

"“The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers (2017)” by Matthew O’Brien, Spencer Raley, and Jack Martin, estimates that the net fiscal costs of illegal immigration to U.S. taxpayers is $116 billion. FAIR’s report reaches that conclusion by

  • vastly overstating the costs of illegal immigration
  • undercounting the tax revenue they generate
  • inflating the number of illegal immigrants
  • counting millions of U.S. citizens as illegal immigrants, and
  • by concocting a method of estimating the fiscal costs that is rejected by all economists who work on this subject.

"It relies on poor methodology and contains numerous errors that undermine its credibility. ..... The immigration debate deserves higher quality research than this recent FAIR report."

Instead of watching Fox, try doing research on your own. Almost every independent study contradicts what Fox tells their viewers every day. Those are the FACTS. Illegal immigrants pay local, state, and federal taxes. They contribute huge sums of money to the Social Security Trust Fund, and they are consumers who boost the economy.  And let's not forget all the businesses which depend on them.

Independent studies illustrate that illegal immigrants almost always contribute more to society than the costs Fox talks about every day of the week.
