It is sad that you are unable to discuss anything without the diversion to Trump hatred.

Breaking News

Trump was elected President of the USA in 2016

Today unfortunately he is still President

US Presidents control the Federal Government Departments that are supposed to be prepared to competently respond to Natonal Emergencies

Trump is also Commander & Chief & can task the US Military to also respond to National Emergencies

Trump has had no problem tasking the US Military to Lock up Woman & Children in the South West USA

But he and his hand picked Federal Government Agencies Administrators have repeatedly demonstrated their Incompetence in helping US Citizens cope with disasters

Focus - the topic is not illegal immigrants, it is the words of the FEMA Chief. Is there anything he said that was inaccurate?

Yeah thats very true

You would think when the entire Federal Government is controlled by Republicans and Trump is the President

A infrastructure Bill that could have provided for more Mass Transit like Buses that would have allowed Seniors the Sick & the Poor to evacuate from areas we already know are vulnerable would have made more sense

Than a 1.5 Trillion Tax Break for Rich people who don't need anything

See now, there ya go - if only the government had not given a tax break to rich people who don't pay taxes anyway, they could have set up a "get away" fund for those folks (having predicted in advance who they would be) or at least bought some buses to be sitting in a parking lot in the exact right place.

I didn't know that "infrastructure" meant empty buses sitting in parking lots. But, hey, what do I know?

Well apparently your not familiar with - Mass Transit ....... where I live - even New Hampshire - We have Bus & Train Service - buses are frequently re-purposed to transport large groups of people from one place to another in various circumstances - including disasters

Our Country is seriously underserved by Mass Transit

Developing a Comprehensive National Infrastructure Program was a Daily Promise by Trump & Republicans to the American People in 2016

After they got elected Trump & the GOP broke that promise and instead they put the Country further in Debt by passing a 1.5 Trillion Tax Break to give even more money to the Top 10% like Trumps Son in Law Kushner who already pay No Income Tax

All Proof

Trump is unfit to be President

The GOP Cannot Govern

And you think that all those shortages of federally paid for local buses are the result of the events in the past two years. That is sad!!!

As an aside (since you went there) - if Kushner didn't pay taxes for years (as you claimed), how did he get a tax cut?

Another one of dt's, "Best people".

Inspector General says FEMA chief kept using government vehicles to travel after being told to stop - https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/26/politics/fema-brock-long-vehicles/index.html

...Even after he had been told not to, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Brock Long used government SUVs and drivers to shuttle him between home and work, to and from his family's North Carolina residence, and while on vacation...

The practice cost the government around $151,000, investigators estimated, and FEMA officials may have violated several federal laws, including destroying federal records and "theft of public money, property, or records."

...The practice came under inspector general scrutiny after an accident involving a vehicle he was being transported in. Long's name was not included in the accident report, which may have been an attempt "to hide Long's presence," the report says.

...Long was informed that he could be driven home in certain circumstances, such as during hurricane response, but "the cost of the vehicles, drivers' salaries, and gas for the vehicles would be considered a fringe benefit that would become taxable," one FEMA official told investigators.

"Long told him he could not afford that," the report reads, and Long told investigators he "is going broke and in the hole every month."

...Long told investigators he believed the travel was authorized under a presidential directive about how the government should continue operating in a disaster, and that his "senior staff was working on obtaining clarity on the rules."  LO L !

...In several instances, drivers transported Long and his family to the airport, or picked up his children.

Do you really see that as related to those who refused evacuation orders? Or just an excuse to giggle?

Yes, Katrina...were Mayor Ray Nagin of NO had like a hundred buses and did not use them...remember? I do.

Back to the correct subject of this thread....there were many people that did not take the warnings that had the means to leave that did not..get real!

And worse than that, Nagin and the Governor of Louisiana took off running away from the problems.
