That is the trend that we need to watch and hope for. Unfortunately most in the US only care about their pockets, and only when their pockets are dealt with, they react.

Economy Slowing Down!

Bond yields have been inverted for quite some time, repercussions from the Trump/GOP  Tax Scam are kicking in, tax refunds that used to go towards down payments on new cars and trucks now go to pay taxes, the deduction deception was revealed at tax time, instead of thousands in refunds people owed thousands in taxes.

Implications and consequences are global.

The FED won't even pretend  QE easing is temporary, Wall Street and Big Banks must be kept afloat, they're to big to fail.

I had to look up inverted bond yields. Did not know what that was, thank you. Scary stuff.

I sincerely believe that a country needs to suffer in order to change what is ailing them.

and presently it is not.

That will  play very important factor in the next elections. hoping that he will impose more tariffs that will harm the economy. Please, don't discourage him!!!!!!!!

The economy is slowing down?  Oh ......... it must be Obama's and/or Hillary's fault.

There is a site, which has a RW slant that documents, more or less on a daily basis, somewhat accurately the number of jobs lost via layoffs announced by company.  Those job losses do not show up immediately on any site that I am aware of, because the affected individuals may have been give a severance package or they have applied for unemployment.

All that being said, as the current WH regime goes on to high-5 the low unemployment rate and the Market, they are purposefully ignoring those who have lost jobs and are now in the margins.

  • Job creation decelerated strongly in May, with nonfarm payrolls up by just 75,000.
  • The decline was the second time in four months that payrolls increased by less than 100,000 as the labor market continues to show signs of weakening.
  • Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a gain of 180,000.

And the stock market shot up 263 points on the news. They said the poor jobs report meant it's likely the Fed will lower interest rates. Good news for Wall Street, they say.

I remember owning IBM stocks and reading that they were going to layoff 5,000 workers. Their stock price shot up 2 1/2 points on the news. That's why it's not always wise to equate a rising stock market with a good economy.

I concur with Panj. If the economy declines, more tariffs (taxes) are imposed, manufacturing jobs decrease, and more subsidies for farmers are introduced, will trump try to convince his base that this will benefit them because he said so?!

Wonder what Obama program he will try to take credit for?...Will the ACA become

“good” again!...because trump said so!
