I really believed that the astonishingly disasterous reign of jrbush would forever keep Americans from electing a gutless draft-dodging ignorant preppytwit as POTUS, but I greatly underestimated the Republican committment to racism, sexism and xenophobia and the willingness of the GOPerBase to believe whatever lies told them what they wanted to hear.

But now the rat is being cornered, and is pulling out all the stops to avoid not just political defeat but long term residence in the House of Many Doors.

All of what is being said is true, and not only for trade, but also, commerce, allies, planes crashing, truth about dictators, environment, government, taxes, infrastructure, etc. Reason that he is desperate, is that he is being investigated and he’s in over his head. Running our government is not the same as starring on a game show, or running a golf course. He doesn’t have a clue, appoints terrible unknowledgeable

people, and he is a crook, and believes he is right, and doesn’t care about people.

I think that it all ties together to explain him. He needs to go!

And yes, his trade deals are terrible!

I predict lil donny will very soon announce a YUGE Victory for America with a restoration of 99% of our previous trade agreements with China, plus a "committment" from China to buy at least some of our soy, corn and wheat and no longer insist American firms share their propriatory manufacturing secrets as a condition of entry to the Chinese market.

lil donny will get those "concessions" because:

1. The rest of the World cannot replace all the grain China imported from the USA, so they will agree to buy whatever they cannot get elsewhere, but no more.

2. Once they have the end item, Chinese engineers can easily "reverse engineer" anything they need. They will NOT agree to protect American patents or "intellectual property".

What will be forever lost will be a sizable share of the Chinese grain market and several thousand family farms that went bankrupt because of lil donny's tanTrump thinly disguised as a trade policy, AND America's reputation as a reliable trade partner.

Donald is desperate

Again, not my words, but those of Gary Cohn, Donalds former director of National Economic Counsil.

Donald is a zero-sum kind of guy - if you are not winning, you are losing.    So what has he won?

The wall is not being built.

North Korea is keeping all its nuclear capabilities

Wars continue, despite donald saying that they are "won".

What remains?  New  NAFTA - which is in shambles and Trade Treaty wit China, which just today there is an annoucement that Trade negotiations have been postponed - again.   That means that Donald is losing.

    Ask Mr. Cohn:

"When you put tariffs on goods that people in the United States consume every day, it's a consumption tax. So all the tariffs did is they made products that Americans were going to buy more expensive. And in fact we got the final trade data numbers ... And lo and behold [in 2018], we hit an all-time record-high trade deficit globally, and with China."
"Tariffs don't work. If anything, they hurt the economy because if you're a typical American worker, you have a finite amount of income to spend. If you have to spend more on the necessity products that you need to live, you have less to spend on the services that you want to buy. And you definitely don't have anything left over to save.
"So we should try and make the goods as cheap as possible. And we don't produce the goods in the United States; we import the goods from other countries. And if we could produce the goods as cheaply as other countries do, we would produce them in the United States."

Cohn also said Trump is “desperate right now” for a trade agreement with China.

"The president needs a win. The only big open issue right now that he could claim as a big win that he’d hope would have a big impact on the stock market would be a Chinese resolution. Getting the trade deficit down I will never say is easy, but of the issues on the table, that's relatively easier. Getting the intellectual property, the forced technology transfer and the market access — much more difficult."
