At what point will the country's demographics shift enough so that Republicans understand they need to start listening and understanding what people of color want and need, and then delivering?

I know many conservative people of color. They universally feel unwelcome in the Republican Party. We'd be a stronger nation if there were more even representation.

================================================================

The Republican are listening and understanding what people of color are saying...all people.. color is and should not be a issue. But people, if you read the posts are making it about color.. and they are left wing...think about that..please.

"I know many conservative people of color. They universally feel unwelcome in the Republican Party. We'd be a stronger nation if there were more even representation."

That is sad but I think that people of color have always been treated badly and not JUST by Republicans .

As to do with "if there were more even representation" like how? like they are not? Say what?

Color matters as long as black people, Latino people, and even Asian people consistently have lower incomes, wealth, education, health care outcomes, and home ownership rates than white people do. You can't just erase color and race from your vocabulary and think you will fix those disparities.

Representation? When Asians, Latinos, and Black voters are just as likely register and vote Republican.   Because right now, there are hardly any people of color who identify as Republican.

@CriticalThinking

Very good points CT. Per the discussion of white voters supporting trump, can he hang onto them?

How can trump expect to expand his base... by gaining any support from any Minority group? You get support from those that you support. If we look at the white male repub "super" majority in Congress, we can ask: how many times have they supported issues pertaining to Minorities from food assistance, jobs, healthcare, education and voting rights.
Just a reality check, but currently, white trump voters primarily vote for white trump candidates, which follows along with the lack of diversity within trump repubs. Will any of this change for trump and his support from white voters? He is certainly going to need them because there does not appear to be any expansion of his base taking place.

I always say FACTS are irrelevant in Trump World. Please answer the following questions.

  • How many Republican Senators are people of color?
  • How many Republican House members are people of color?
  • Which President hired white nationalists to work in the White House?

Only liberals answer robocalls? I'm liberal and never answer a number I don't recognize.
I really dislike labeling and being lumped in with any group.

The Trump Presidency is based on RACE. His base is terrified of the changing demographics in America and they perceive Comrade Trump as the savior of white people. They would love to turn the clock back to 1956 1856.

tRump's base isn't "working class". It's the remaining casual labor folks who have no skills to market along with the Fundamentalist Naziloving crypto-xians.

Remember Republicans stopped worrying about anyone other than those groups back when Nixon proved his Southern Strategy of race-bating hatred would win elections. Now with the shifting demographics and the unalterable fact they have LOST the culture wars with the Millenials rejecting both their fundie religions and homophobia, the GOPerLords are relying on CHEATING to win.

They pulled it off in 2016 when they got everyone to IGNORE the huge effort Russia made to slither donny Bonespurs into the White House while losing by over 3,000,000 popular votes, and they're already geared up to do it again with MASSIVE Russian help and their hate-driven media empire.

But they cannot win unless decent people let them by pretending elections are not "binary" and write in their favorite tree-hugger or just sit it out because the lines are too long or they think their lifestyle will not change as the GOPerLords funnel more and more income and wealth from the middle to the top.

The Democrat base is dependent on the black vote.  Without it they would never win any election (popular or electoral vote) so they keep making believe that the Republican party is pro white.  Trump has done more for minority people than any other President so, keep telling yourselves that the Democrats (founder of the KKK) care about black people.

Guess black people aren't getting Trump's message.

I'm glad you think so.  His re-election will prove otherwise!

That is so 1980s.  Polls are not conducted exclusively by phone anymore, much less robocalls.  It's the 21st century, time to get with the program.  Polling has come a long way, baby.
