‘Deadbeat’ AOC rakes in a bundle but doesn’t share with House Democrats

In 2019, she funneled more than $300,000 to candidates she’s endorsed by hosting online fundraising campaigns for them.

What's up with that?

She doesn't play the game by the rules of the corporatocracy?

Although she is a fundraising powerhouse, AOC is withholding $250,000 in "dues" from the Democratic party in protest and is building her own grassroots fundraising for progressives instead.

"We are pushing the envelope in D.C. by rewarding those who reject lobbyist money, fight for working families, and welcome newcomers."

In an interview with Fox News, Ocasio-Cortez further defended her decision:

"I don't see the sense in giving a quarter-million dollars to an organization that has clearly told people like me that we're not welcome."

For bucking a key arm of the Democratic Party establishment that has stood in the way of attracting and supporting progressive candidates, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez received applause over the weekend after she announced the launch of a new political action committee designed to directly challenge the power of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).

AOC told FOX News:

"When community leaders, activists, and working-class candidates try to run for office, organizations like the DCCC discourage them. These potential progressive leaders are asked: 'Can you raise $300,000 from your friends and family? If not, don't bother trying.'"

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s New PAC Is Already Raising Big Money

The New York congresswoman is funding candidates herself, instead of routing it through the Democratic Party’s campaign arm.

On its own, the PAC, Courage to Change, received over 4,600 donations, as of late Saturday night, in amounts that averaged under $15.

Thanks for keeping this thread going.

That said the news media likes AOC as she makes good copy. If you have a problem with her making the news you should contact the media, like the NY Post and others that published this story.

Oh?  You mean "that sad news media" that gave tRump more time than anyone during the Democratic Primary in 2016? Of course you do because it was the same "sad news media.

If the media says anything negative about tRump they are "sad" and if they say anything not negative about any Democrat they are "sad". Typical of tRump supporters.

2018 - Even though you may not agree with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on every issue, you have to admire her energy and enthusiasm.

It was her energy and enthusiasm that pulled off "one of the biggest upsets in recent American political history" according to The Guardian.

Her opponent in the election, the veteran "incumbent" Joe Crowley, was endorsed by New York Governor Cuomo, Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Crowley outspent her 18-1, with less than 1% of his donations coming from small donors. Most of her donations came from small donors.

Tump was elected in 2016 because voters wanted to, as Michael Moore put it, "throw a human hand grenade" at Washington.

In some ways, AOC is like Trump. She is a combatant of the status quo. I don't think she is going "to get in line" says Moore.

2019 - DCCC Promises To Blacklist Firms That Work With Candidates Challenging Incumbents

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) announced it will not hire any private political vendors that provide services to Democratic primary challengers, and it will discourage individual House Democrats from doing so as well.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/dccc-promises-to-blacklist-firms-that-work-with-candidates-challengin...

2019 - AOC who was a "challenger" in 2018 when she won her election against an "incumbent". She Tweeted to her millions of Followers:

"The DCCC's new rule to blacklist and boycott anyone who does business with primary challengers is extremely divisive & harmful to the party.

My recommendation, if you’re a small-dollar donor: pause your donations to DCCC & give directly to swing candidates instead."

She did the same - raising $300,000 for Democratic candidates of her choice (not necessarily incumbents).

https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1112100589788450816

2019 - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez surge in popularity couldn't be more evident than in the Twitterverse.

By the end of 2019 AOC had 6.15 million people "Follow" her on Twitter. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the most-followed member of Congress by a large margin.

2020 - Some Republicans complain because AOC is raising money for some Democratic candidates, but not others.

But it is up to the readers not to pay attention to whatever the media says, and only pay attention to the important things and not the trivia.

Isn't this the trump way, make false accusations about someone not giving, but in reality they are.
Is there any doubt as to why we neither believe or nor have belief in trump.
This Country does not deserve a liar as president.
