Amen to that. I hope we get rid of All the flawed individuals in this current administration.

I whole-heartedly agree with you @n566192l.  Mrs. Devos should never have been named Secretary of the Department of Education as she truly is an enemy of public education and is nothing more than an advocate for the privatization of the education system for profit.   As the article below states, "she was born rich and married rich"  and that was pretty much her entree into the world of politics, power, and ultimately to being the headmaster of the U.S. educational system-- a  position for which she has absolutely no teaching or school administration experience.

Any thoughts on schools having to discipline students based on their racial percentage of the population?

Another perfect reminder of why Democrats cannot continue to allow Republicans to block their nominations to the Federal Courts.

Contrast this outcome with the sentencing of the serial felon Manafort.

A version of that was installed in the local school District and the end result was that kids had to be disciplined in keeping with their racial proportion of the school's population.

Needless to say, that is so very, very wrong. Kids should be dealt with based on their actions not their race.

Education is very important to all of us.

devos has no business being the secretary of education. It’s good to hear that she is being denied another action that might help prevent her from doing more damage to the system.

But, that’s what trump appointees are all about, destroying our systems and Country. The sooner we can rid ourselves of them, the better.

Betsy DeVos effort to delay special-ed regulations rejected by court

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/betsy-devos-effort-to-delay-special-ed-regulations-rejected-by-cou...

A federal court ruled this week that an Obama-era regulation designed to ensure children of color are not disproportionately punished or sent to special-education classrooms must take effect immediately.

....Rep. Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (D-Va.), chairman of the House Education Committee, called the decision from U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan a “major victory” for students and parents.

“By forcing the Trump administration to implement the rule, the court’s ruling will put us back on a track toward reversing systemic racial discrimination in education,” he said. “The court’s ruling confirms our suspicion that the Education Department’s delay of the . . . rule had no basis in evidence or facts.”

....The ruling found that the department violated the Administrative Procedures Act by failing to provide a “reasoned explanation” for its delay and failure to consider the costs of the postponement. It lifts the two-year delay.

The Obama-era rule changed how states must implement the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, which governs special education in schools throughout the nation.

....The Trump administration complained that the rule could lead to quotas, but the court said that reasoning was flawed.

A "reasoned explanation" from dt and his entire administration does not exhibit a record of working out very well at all, if ever.
