So, Colin is just exercising his constitutional rights , yet the police are using "Strong arm tactics (pouring coal on the fire) with their peaceful protest?? Hmmmm, sure seems like a typical left wing double standard.

There is living in our region a retired police chief who has a collection of pig related stuff that completely fills a pair of rooms in his basement - he's never been offended by being called a pig - he came up through the ranks - patrolman - sergeant, etc - became a lawyer and after a couple of years, went back to active policing - he has no respect at all for what he disdainfully refers to as rightwingnut law 'n order semi-professional thugs wearing badges.

Perhaps the 49ers will be able to find better security than the bunch of bigoted racist Barney Fifes that are currently failing to protect Santa Clara citizens.

You're correct, A P.   Perhaps the 49ers will be able to find security persons who are willing to let someone else exercise their Constitutional rights to protest in a peaceful and Constitutionally acceptable manner as Kaepernick has. Kaepernick's words were that a handful of police murdering Blacks is giving all police a bad name in some people's eyes.  The truth.  Police departments across America should face that truth, address it, and get bad cops out of their police forces, it's the right thing to do.

Instead, the Santa Clare Police Department decides to boycott.  Speaks volumes, quite a 'tell', isn't it?

Bet you won't find a police union or professional grouping of law enforcement members anywhere in the nation who are not in complete agreement with the Santa Clara PD.

No, it "seems like a typical left wing double standard" to you.

Kaepernick is exercising a "peaceful protest". He is an individual exercising affordable Constitutional Rights.  The police force is a public entity and in protesting this they protest an individual exercising their Constitutional right (wrong for a public entity to do this), plus their boycott puts all citizens at risk attending those games which they are refusing to perform security for, part of their public duty. BIG difference. It seems you should understand that.

Why do you think that anyone here would "envy his choice"? Who in particular?  I disagree with using pig pictures to describe all police, but it could be looked upon as appropriate to use that to describe those few police officers who murder Blacks or anyone of any other race.  A person has the right to display those socks as Kaepernick has, it's his Constitutional right under the Constitution of this great nation. You do support the Constitution, and a person exercising those rights, don't you?

Gee, another post from fang that contains nothing relevant to the topic, but only an attack on a poster.  SHOCKING!Care to answer the actual question posed, fang?  Or just attack?

Would calling one or more hateful or racists fall under the criteria of a personal attack. Careful how you respond lest you get locked out.

what is the "actual question posed"?

For the neoRepublican, patriotism means agreeing with neoRepublicans -- very like the kneejerk reaction against protestors in the 1960's and 70's. Protestors who got it right back then just as Kaepernick gets it right today. But now as then, its the ones pointing out the lack of Empiror's clothes that get crapola from the Right, not the "tailors" who made the clothes.
