Clinton's State Department emails To Be Released

Pompeo says he's working to release Clinton's State Department emails

His pledge comes a day after Trump blasted Pompeo for not having done so.

By CAITLIN OPRYSKO

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday vowed to track down and release information regarding tens of thousands of emails former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent and received over a private email server while in office, a day after President Donald Trump lambasted Pompeo for not having done so.

In an interview on Fox News, Pompeo laughed off Trump’s criticism from a day earlier, telling anchor Dana Perino that “we've got the emails, we're getting them out.” He added: “We'll get all of this information out so the American people can see it.”

Clinton’s private server has long been the target of conservatives, and Trump made it a central argument of his first presidential campaign, threatening to jail Clinton and reveling in chants of "lock her up" at campaign events.

Though an FBI investigation into Clinton’s email use resulted in no charges and an internal State Department investigation found last year that there was no widespread effort by her aides or other staffers to mishandle classified information, Trump and his allies have continued to relitigate the subject in the lead-up to November’s election.

Just a day before Pompeo vowed more revelations concerning Clinton’s emails, Trump skewered him during a nearly hourlong interview on Fox Business.

“They are in the State Department but Mike Pompeo has been unable to get them out which is very sad actually,” Trump asserted, adding that “I'm not happy about him for that reason.”

Trump, who has sweeping declassification authority, argued Pompeo should release the emails, disregarding whether they contain classified information.

“Forget about the fact they were classified. Let's go. Maybe Mike Pompeo finally finds them, OK?” he said.

Trump has focused heavily on Clinton in recent days, while also railing against the Justice Department following the news that U.S. Attorney John Durham would not be unveiling any indictments or disclosures about his probe into the origins of the Russia investigation ahead of Election Day.

Earlier this week, the president had channeled his grievances via tweet, demanding in one post that Barr immediately arrest and jail former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, Trump’s Democratic opponent this year, and Clinton.

Moments before Pompeo’s interview, Trump reiterated his position on Clinton during a marathon, two-hour interview with conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, telling Limbaugh that Clinton “should be in jail.”

The renewed attention to issues that helped Trump in 2016 comes as he trails Biden in polls with Election Day less than three weeks away, and as Trump is confined to the White House after his coronavirus diagnosis last week.

The secretary cautioned on Friday that any eventual release of emails would not compromise intelligence sources and methods but slammed Clinton as he promised: “We're going to get there. We're going to get this information out so the American people can see it.”

And despite already facing accusations this year of mixing politics with governing, Pompeo did not decline to tie at least some aspect of his pledge to the electoral calendar, saying “we’re doing it as fast as we can” but predicting “there will be more to see before the election.”

Asked about Clinton’s emails by Perino, the secretary noted he previously sat on the congressional select committee aimed at investigating the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Embassy compound in Benghazi, Libya, a probe Clinton and her allies allege was politically motivated.

“You’ll know I was close to this even when I was a member of Congress,” Pompeo told Perino.

OK, let me get this straight.  So even "though an FBI investigation into Clinton’s email use resulted in no charges and an internal State Department investigation found last year that there was no widespread effort by her aides or other staffers to mishandle classified information", it's only because Donnie was ranting to Limbaugh in his drug-addled fog about how unhappy he is with Mikey for not "getting the emails out, that Pompeo said he is "getting the emails out"?  You with me so far?

So Pompeo tells Fox that...and I quote...

"We're going to get all this information out, so the American people can see it. You will remember, there was classified information on a private server. It should have never been there. Hillary Clinton should never have done that.

"And it was unacceptable behavior. It's not the kind of thing that leaders do. They don't put that kind of information out. And you can see, whether it's Russia, or China, or Iran, or the North Koreans, who want to get their hands on this kind of information, classified information needs to stay in the right places."

So because it is "unacceptable behavior" to "put that kind of information out" and "it's not the kind of thing that leaders do", Pompeo is telling us he is going to put that information out, so everyone can see?  Still with me?

What am I missing?  Better give me some of what IMPOOPUS is taking, because I'm not seeing the logic or the relevance here. 🤪

If Barr and the Justice Department have Hillary's emails they know if she broke the law. So charge her, indict her, arrest her. No?

Hillary's emails: ZZZzzzzzzz

The interesting thing will be to see if the Trump forces can get as much information, good or bad,  out of the emails as the Biden forces have out of Trump's tax returns. We know he owes SOMEBODY $450million.  We know his total debt is around $1.3 Billion. Outside the tax returns, we know that no legitimate bank would loan Trump any money after the last of his many bankruptcies. I wonder if Clinton's State Department emails contain the name of Trump's lenders?  THAT would be irony.

Things have gotten so desperate in the COVID contaminated Trump White House, that they've taken to rehashing the same old nothing news of 2016 about Hillary's emails.  And yet on the other hand, they are forever ready and quick to tell us that we (the so-called left) have not let "it" (Trump's stolen assent to the presidency) go.

Personally, the fact that Hillary had a private server and sent some emails, has not effected any of us.  But everything that Trump and his Republican minions have done have adversely effected millions of Americans and ultimately caused the deaths of tens of thousands more.  So by comparison, I'll take Hillary's trumped-up supposed "act of treason," (those emails), over the actual treasonous actions and bungled decisions of Benedict Donald!

Exactly. I spell diversion: DIVERSION.

Living inside the Trump Alternate Reality Bubble is very dangerous if you want the TRUTH.

They will never show it on Fox, but the AG Barr Justice Department recently completed a 2 year investigation of Hillary and found NO CRIMES were committed by her.

Masterful move by the ToadPOTUS - now his lofo base and Fox will spend all their time sifting thru the emails looking for a smoking gun and ignore the fact the raid on Benghazi lasted NINETY-FIVE MINUTES and only happened because of the Republican funded video slandering the Prophet Muhammad.

This is the biggest political scandal in the history of America.  Justice should be swift and equal...

Not true. The biggest scandal today is what the NY Times tells us. Trump has been using his Office to have people stay at his business. It even gives us a rough amount he has stolen from them.

You are right justice should be swift and equal. Arrest and put him on trial.

Just another episode of “let’s use Hillary as a diversion, because we have no accomplishments to talk about”!

The lingering issue...Hillary still resides in trump’s brain...she is not President, nor is she a current candidate.

Hillary has overwhelmed “mental genius”!

Used to be that only replies to topics by trump supporters were denials diversions, and discrediting.  No topics are posted by them as diversions from tRump's idiocy, ridiculousness and incompetence.  It isn't working very well.

Did you read your support article or look at the other investigations done. None of the other investigations found anything. Your support article says  the State Dept. asserted that the information on the Clinton server was at increased risk of being compromised because it was not on the State Dept. server. Well her E mails were never compromised. Now the State Dept official server was compromised by Russia. The State Dept. shut down their system for one week to try and fix it.

So your support article tells us that Clinton did the correct thing in not putting her E mails on the State Dept. system as Russia never got them. By the way Colin Powell did what Clinton did with his E mails, and suggested to her that she set up her system the way she did. Looks like Colin was correct.

It always helps to read and understand the support article since it tells us just the opposite of what you say. Thanks for proving Clinton correct.

Who cares? Clinton lost the election. Obama served 8 years.

DOJ got bigger fish to fry prosecuting domestic terrorism.

I think Trump believes it's a great idea to get his cult distracted with anything other than his abysmal handling of the pandemic and economic wreckage it caused.

Esteemed Social Butterfly

Let them release and declassify Clinton's emails.  That means they're no longer a part of any investigation.

Honored Social Butterfly

Trump is down in just about every major poll now and nothing is going well, for some reason, OOPS!, so its lets attack Hillary or lets attack Obama. This is all about diversion from all the messes Pandemic Donald has created himself. Double OOOPS!!!
Honored Social Butterfly

Not that ANYBODY really cares about Hillary's emails at this point.  This is merely another Trumpian diversion tactic.  But, if they intend to go ahead with this nonsense, I say while they're releasing Hillary's emails,  they should release Daddy's Dearest Ivanka's emails as well.  Seems she has used a private server while working for and in The White House.  What's good for the goose......after all!
