Sorry rk9152 , but it takes Tax Dollars to have a Nation as strong as "Ours". Those who don't want to pay their fair share , can always move to Somalia.

Just imagine the Tax burden If all American's had a Gov't Pension with COLA's and Lifetime Healthcare ?

A lot of government workers and retirees stood by silently as the Republicans attacked unions and many of them stood against workers in the private sector having pensions and health care provided through their employers, calling it a burden on Corporations. Unions helped keep pensions and health care, the very thing that government workers enjoyed.  The word 'hypocrit' comes to mind.

Which aspect of the "Christian Value 7" refers to unions?? How does that bring misspelling to mind??

No question about it, national defense is a if not the major function of the federal government and that costs. And there are other similar expenitures needed.

Now about feeding the hungry and clothing the naked .....????

Diachotomy; division into two parts....( taken from the trusty old Webster's dictionary) is the depiction of the American dollar, no?

Why can’t someone do someting good just for the sake of doing something good?

Why does there have to be a requirement or because of voting for a politician? Please, have a little faith!

Never Forget

A very good point. Doing good for others is a very personal act - and the right thing to do. It is totally apart from politics or politicians. Yet, some consider a persons goodness or badness to be determined by their Party of registration or their view as to the relationship between the government and the governed.

What does all that mean from the perspective of  political discussion?

Well, I'm not surprised......

America was supposedly founded on Christian Values?  Wasn't it?

And yet some consider that as inappropriate since it leaves out other religions and atheists.

The "Christian Right", the "Moral Majority"; the KKK claim to support "Christian Values" and the GOP.

The Klan - really?? You just had to lump them with the others.

Evangelicals support the Right.  Do they support "Christian Values"?  They claim they do.

I would think so. Why do you ask??

Or is this just another "bash others" topic?  Any adult with an IQ of 80 and above can see this topic didn't "bash" anyone.  And why would any Christian, or any REAL American be "troubled" by a list of Christian Values?

So, again, what has that mean from the perspective of a political discussion or is it just another "bash" topic (such as associating the Klan with the GOP)?

Well of course - the Grotesquely Obscene Pedophiles/Plutocrats and the KKK have been the closest of buddies ever since Nixon's "Southern Strategy" - the whole world knows all about it...

It's no coincidence that racist and right wing start with the letter "r"...

Are republicans, conservatives and trump supporters practicing christians?

Every bit as much as trump and his number one supporter - Satan - is...

Nice summation of some guidelines for our lives.

Charitable work, a belief system, and doing good for others.

I like it!

These concepts, I’m sure overlap within and are practiced by many credible religions of the world.

Never Forget

As I have stated previously, the requirement for doing good for others is individual not collective. In other words, you "do the right thing" by helping the poor, not by voting for politicians who will take the property of some to help others.

You are speaking like Ayn Rand. There is something to what she said but she was an absolutist. Our politics are not absolute.

She was for the self-centered idea of a free market though. I’m for the charitable works of Christianity and any other belief system that does good for others.

I'm just pointing out that your comments were very Randian.
