There may be a rule about identifying a poster. Possibly he/she/it will 'fess up. But note that your title blamed Capitalism and affluence - how do you fix that? That's a good dodge for someone who cannot validate a false claim.

This College Corruption simply puts the issue of how Rampant Crony Capitalism is in this Country in front of everyone in a easy to understand very close to home Scenario

Yes, it is obvious that the college admission system needs looking into.

Most of us have children - we have experienced first hand trying to save & sacrifice & ask our Children to do the same so they can be as competitive as possible

True.

After all that we learn - mick studers kids who actually played & excelled at sports - spent extra hours & hours to become excellent academically - got bumped by someone willing to put up Benjamin's in place of expecting hard work from their own children & Colleges who willingly colluded to receive the extra Benjamin's

We don't know that. But actually we do.

At the same time the mick studers of the world have to listen to those in the Trump Cult tell us - WE ARE ACTUALLY THE ONES DEMONSTRATING HOW MUCH WE CRAVE ENTITLEMENT

There is no "Trump Cult" involved in this. Remember, this was the Hollywood left that is constantly telling those you call the "Trump Cult" how bad we are. Sure there is a trump cult, it is those who defend anything that trump does, says, or stands for, even the wealthy getting special treatment and buying their children into top schools regardless of their lack of academic abilities.

There is no 'Trump Cult" except for the "Cult of Hate". As an example, the President is in no way involved in this thing and yet there you are interjecting him.

Care to give us - just one example of where you have been critical of anything Trump has said or done?

NO

That's All The Evidence Anyone Would Even Need To Conclude - There is a Trump Cult & We All Know Members on this Forum Who are in it

The question was, "Would you care to give us.....?". My response to "us" was "no". But since that wasn't clear enough, I'll expand it - "No, "us", I would not care to.....".

It's Not Logical That a American would approve of everything a US President has ever said or done

Very true

The US Congress just this week - Twice in a Bi-partisan Vote - Rejected Things Trump Is Trying To Do as Anti-Constitutional

And???

Yet specific members on this Forum continue to support these same actions their own elected representatives condemned - if that isn't  self-identifying as Trump Cult Members - I don't know what is

There is much the Congress does I disapprove  of. What about you - 100% lined up in lock-step????

And I'll bet that at sometime you will get back to your theory (actually, your topic) about the evils of capitalism and affluence.

These should not have went through a middleman to bribe the universities. Direct bribes have been acceptable for decades but they don’t like the little guy skimming part of their bribe.

How about we repeal the Reagan taxscam and use the additional revenue to restore Revenue Sharing so our PUBLIC higher education system can resume the growth it enjoyed until 1985 and the perceived gap between State schools and the Ivy League once again begins to SHRINK? Then the grads from Michigan or Ohio or Georgia Tech grads will have equivalent or better ACADEMIC credentials and no student debt and we can begin restoring the Middle Class.

How would any of that effect parents paying bribes to get their kids in where they don't qualify?

The issue is the ease with which seats in these colleges can be bought - certainly that has to be corrected.

But, interestingly some see it an issue of Capitalism and affluence. Certainly, one solution would be to follow the model offered by one poster in which the government owns all money and distributes it as it sees fit.

That would certainly screw up our very successful economic model and - can anyone guarantee that such a system would be corruption free??

Sometimes - MEH - is all anyone can reasonably respond with

This Photo is of - TPG Growth founder Bill McGlashan - Bill McGlashan, a founder and managing partner at TPG Growth — which has made landmark investments in companies like Uber and Airbnbindicted on fraud allegations for trying to engineer the admission of his son to the University of Southern California.

HARDLY A - HOLLYWOOD LEFTY

College Tuition Scam.png

What is particularly damaging for TPG is that McGlashan has positioned himself as a leading voice in Silicon Valley for social responsibility. In addition to overseeing TPG’s late-stage growth investing arm, McGlashan has partnered with other conscious leaders like Bono and Laurene Powell Jobs at The Rise Fund, a TPG investing arm that tries to make the world a better place through investments in things like dairy farms in India.

Others indicted included

Agustin Huneeus, who operates a vineyard in Napa Valley

Douglas Hodge, former CEO of Pimco investment

Manuel Henriquez, chairman of Hercules Technology Growth Capital

Robert Flaxman, founder of Crown Realty & Development;

Robert Zangrillo of the investment company, Dragon Global.

So again you very colorfully seem to find the problem to be Capitalism and affluence - any solutions??

It's a US Cultural Issue - it revolves around the - Fracturing of American Civil Society beginning with the Election of Trump

Trump ran on Exposing the Crimes Against the Working Man by the Elite and the Trump Cult Bought it

Promising to Drain the Swamp - Put Some Accountability & Fairness Back into Wall Street The IRS and Big Business

Because Trump said - as a successful US Businessman he knew all the tricks and would expose & eliminate them and the Trump Cult Bought it

TRUMPS DONE NONE OF THAT - ALL HIS CABINET IS FROM - WALL STREET

Americans have been conditioned to accept Apathy as a illness who knows No Cure

This Apathy that allows 43% of the Country to Accept Anything Trump Does or Says Without Question - Even When They Would Never Accept Such Bad Behavior or Repeated Deceit From Their Own Family & Friends has destroyed Americans Independence

Right Here on this Forum - Trump Cult Members Lie & Deceive Their Fellow Americans Daily by trying to infect others with the Meme that Democratic Socialism is Marxism & Communism

It's Not - Republican President Eisenhauer and Reagan both supported Major Social Programs that are now being Demonized by Trump & parroted by the Trump Cult as Socialism

ONE SOLUTION - Demand Honesty & Fact Based Discussion & Debate

No, mick, it did not begin with Trump. If you base your theory on that - it is without value.

I tell you - severe penalties for those involved - both sides the bribers and the bribees. It must be established that the rewards are not worth the risks.

So, I ask, what is wrong with getting the money of corporations and the top wealthiest (limit the amount of campaign contributions one can make) out of our voting and government by Citizens United?  What power would super pac's have and lobbyist if they no longer rule the government and what about some more powerful regulations? I do believe that when institutions/corporations are given so much power over the people with their "affluence and influence" we will continue to find greed and corruption.  Maybe we have come to the time of a citizen controlled oversight establishment to report continually to the people where boundaries have been overstepped (keeping the right and left in check)? Why not stiff fines on any false propaganda/information that gets into our lives?

So, I tell you - nothing wrong with it - that is where we get most of our tax money. As to campaign contributions, that is worth discussing but separate from your issues with capitalism and affluence. Would you like to see them ended? If so replaced by what?
