I agree....but why stop there?  Will you be asking Pelosi and Schummer, too?  I agree that every high ranking public employee (not just applying for a job) should show their tax returns since they have a lot of say in what they do with America's money.

And after the President and Vice President should also come the Majority and Minority leaders of the House and Senate; and all the House and Senate members; but for sure all the Governors of each state.  Especially after reading about the billions of dollars that went to Baltimore, and they can't find where it went (check Al Sharpton's pockets along with others we'd heard about).  KAG

Richva:  The law requires that all presidential candidates release their tax returns in order to be placed on the ballot for the state’s primary next year, in a move that will almost certainly lead to legal challenges.

He will most likely lose a legal challenge.

Boies, Boutrous and Chemerinsky Back California's Squeeze on Trump's Tax Returns

Three legal veterans on Tuesday backed newly signed state legislation that would require President Donald Trump, and any other presidential candidate, to disclose their income tax returns in order to appear on California’s 2020 ballot.

Boies Schiller Flexner chairman David Boies; Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher partner Theodore Boutrous Jr.; and UC Berkeley School of Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky all supplied short opinions asserting the constitutionality of the new law in a media release from Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office.

The new law “does not keep any candidate from being on the ballot so long as he or she complies with a simple requirement that is meant to provide California voters crucial information,” Chemerinsky wrote. “This is the state acting to make sure that its voters have information that might be very important to them when they cast their ballots as to who they want to be President of the United States.”

Jay Sekulow, a lawyer for Trump, said in a statement that “the State of California’s attempt to circumvent the Constitution will be answered in court.”

California Requires Trump Tax Returns Under New Election Law

Deficit Don has already said he will fight this but since it is for the PRIMARY ballot and not the general election, I don't think he will have a lot to stand on. He only hope is to delay implementation until after the actual election and there are probably too many people interested in seeing his tax returns for that to happen.

This was predicted years ago.

President Trump will not be eligible for California’s primary ballot unless he releases his tax returns, under a new law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Tuesday.

The law requires that all presidential candidates release their tax returns in order to be placed on the ballot for the state’s primary next year, in a move that will almost certainly lead to legal challenges. Mr. Newsom’s decision to sign the legislation seemed designed to escalate the running feud between the White House and California.
