These numbers are down everywhere along the border – in sectors with barriers or fencing, and in sectors without them. From 2000 to 2017, southwest border apprehensions declined 81.5 percent overall.

You are right. The President of the United States was unable to get the government of Mexico to pay for our border security (although they are helping us by keeping some there until processed).

Rational people understand that would have been quite an accomplishment had he done it and appreciate the efforts he is making towards our border security.

Trump was NEVER going to get Mexico to pay for his stupid wall and yet he PROMISED that Mexico would pay for it, anyway.

RATIONAL people knew Trump was lying.  RATIONAL people did not vote for Trump.

Considering the alternative offered by the Dems, I'd say rational (or if you prefer RATIONAL) people did.

And again, rational (or RATIONAL) people do appreciate his efforts towards our border security.

You have to believe there is a reason Trump never had DHS conduct a study on the effectiveness of a border wall.

They just caught Sarah (huckster) Huckabee lying about 4,000 terrorists coming across our southern border. The facts are that no terrorists have come across the southern border, they all arrive at airports.  Hmmmn ............. seems like we might need walls around airports.

Hmmmm ........ I believe we do have physical barriers around airports. And they have had absolutely no effect on getting the Mexican government to pay for our border security.

Here is precisely how INDIVIDUAL-1 and his minions use statistics to pretend WALLS work!!

Yes, in San Diego, illegal border crossings are down.

But here is what INDIVIDUAL-1 and his minions don't tell you.

Other than creating a SYMBOL, throughout history, walls do not work. The Great Wall of China didn't work, the Berlin Wall didn't work, and neither will this one FOR THE PURPOSE IT WAS INTENDED.

INDIVIDUAL-1 and his minions use San Diego as an example. Yes, it has reduced "illegal border crossings" by a huge number but one thing it hasn't done is reduce the AMOUNT OF DRUGS entering the U.S. at that entry point. In fact, due to the new wall in San Diego, the port of entry is more OVERWORKED than ever.

These ports of entry have seen an increase in the entry of drugs because the traffickers have understood one thing, something our LESS THAN INTELLIGENT president and his minions can't seem to understand. The traffickers understand that smuggling drugs by BLENDING IN at overworked ports of entry is EASIER than SNEAKING IN through the desert or mountains.

More ICE agents won't address this problem but more CUSTOMS AGENTS would; but guess what type of agent IS NOT asked for in INDIVIDUAL-1 demands.

INDIVIDUAL-1 is such an idiot.

Oh my, the RW post a thread regarding a 2017 gov't officials op-ed about the Yuma sector.    As I lived in that area, I have some knowledge about the area.     After I wrote that information, now another RWer person is saying that the complaints are just about Yuma...so one RW is dissing another RWers because some else dares to point out the lies relevant to the area.

From the Atlantic, (circa 2016) to have a SLATS in the region . IT

would require daily cleaning of the SLATS or they would become a sand dune - which is easily traversed in a dune buggy.

RW seems to forget it was their bff's who started the thread not me.   Their inability to mount anything resembling a logical diversion is hilarious....no wonder they just rant and post articles that hide details.

Without daily removal, the US/Mexico border fence in CA would become a sand dune

I can see where in a total desert environment sand could pile up against a wall. But you'd thing it would blow right through slats.

Is that logical - or hilarious?

If that is your thoughts your don’t have much experience with fences specifically designed to stop drifting sand (or snow).

True. But that is why I understand the need for a variety of deterrents to illegal entry such as proposed by President Trump.
