Donald Trump Is the Biggest Middle-Class Tax Raiser of All Time

Ha ha ha:

President Trump recently announced plans to impose a 10 percent tax on $200 billion of imports from China effective September 24, escalating to 25 percent effective January 1, 2019. When added to tariffs that have already been implemented, total trade taxes imposed on American consumers and businesses via unilateral executive action exceed all the taxes included in President Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA).

That’s from the National Taxpayers Union Foundation, a conservative outfit that favors low taxes and low spending. Their methodology is a little aggressive since they include $60 billion in automobile tariffs that haven’t actually been implemented yet, but then again, Donald Trump keeps yammering about raising car tariffs, so maybe it’s fair after all. When you add it all up, here’s the total in colorful chart form:

IT'S TIME TO TALK ABO

Let's talk about the details of Obamacare funding.

First, President Obama stopped the jrbush policy of allowing providers to charge 135% of the negotiated (between provider and Insurance companies) "reasonable and proper" fees which cut the cost of insurance by $70Billion every year.

Next President Obama placed a 0.9% surtax on incomes above $200,000 for individuals ($250,000 for couples) and a 3.8% surtax on investment income for those income levels to raise $35 Billion every year.

Finally there were the penalties for NOT getting insurance, which lil donny has eliminated, that raised $4 Billion from freeloading Young Republicans.

In exchange, we got 34 MILLION more Americans with affordable health insurance, ended insurance companies denying coverage for pre-existing conditions, dropping you when you get sick, refusing to pay if you made a mistake filling out the forms,  capping lifetime payments and spending more than 20% of premium income on overhead. The result has been to SLOWEST rate of growth in health care costs in the last 50 years.

Republicans want to end all that and go back to having your employer be the only possible source of health insurance so you will become nice peaceful wageslaves as they continue to reduce your real income as their compensation continues to skyrocket.
