You sound like you would. I prefer a conservative small government that leaves most to the private sector. All the Democrats plans are tax more, spend more, waste more, redistribute more, everything done by the private sector would move to the government which liberals much prefer.

But blaming a Few Welfare Cheats is a Cop Out IMHO. The Insanely Wealthy should know better and be thankful to live in such a Great Nation.

When I was in college, I had a Finance professor who loved to point out how much money we spent trying to police welfare cheats. He also pointed out how often the people we would label as cheats knew how to get around the system where the honest folks would lose benefits because they did not. His idea was a guaranteed minimum income for every American If some able bodied loser was willing to live on that stipend, let them.  We would save billions by eliminating all that bureaucracy.

Your finance professor should have got an F- when in college. He obviously is a Democrat.

I can't speak for his politics but HE has a PHD in finance. I take it you prefer the huge bureaucracy?

I much prefer hard work and education to get ahead yet the Democrats want more government. Hey, isn't that called bueraucracy?

You mean the type of education that we see in the headlines....for the wealthy or the "grandfathered in" social groups?

I noticed you conveniently "forgot" hard work. Faux pas?

Hard work...LOL...no offense to you personally, but I do know what hard work means because I didn't come from wealth...started out at 16...worked numerous hours both in the normal capitalistic community and then another 18 years self-employed, while putting my family and home first, but still had it all wiped away by some re"thug"licans who dominate my community!  My point to all that...I KNOW that there are many, many like myself.  As they (re"thug"licans) collect their paychecks/benefits and retirements off the backs of the hard working taxpayers.

I also came from a lower middle class family and worked many menial jobs at $1.00/hour to save up to pay for some of college. BTW, worked as a carpenters helper at the college to pay for clothes/food. As I progressed with each job getting better and better opportunities and I had a different experience than yours. I saw that only Democrats wanted to take my money away via taxes and couldn't wait to raise the taxes that existed. My state at that time (blue state) had no income tax or sales taxes and that was to change with one Democrat Governor.

Yes, the Democrat party and some of the Republicans want to tax and redistribute to others, of course very inefficiently!

One thing is for certain... there is no such thing as a benevolent socialist.

Socialism accepts the selfish nature of humans and imposes "fairness" by those who lack benevolence.

Capitalism attempts to transform selfishness and encourages benevolence.

If the government takes 1/2 of my earnings do I become more charitable? or less charitable?

God loves a cheerful giver.

First for me....that I agree with you.   Yes Sanders the millionaire is used to the good life.

Sanders from DONATIONS   took a private airplane to almost everyone of the 39 rallies across 13 states over the final three months leading up to the last presidential election, according to Sanders’ Spokesperson Arianna Jones.

O.f course, once he had the taste of the good life, the outspoken socialist hasn’t let it go. “In the two years following the presidential election, Sanders continued his frequent private jet travel, spending at least $342,000 on the flights,” Politico reported

So the “silver-tongued old fox  is a good politician and that's all I give him credit for.   He can talk the birds down from the trees and say the SAME THINGS other true party members say and for some they act like he invented the DNC platform.    DE JE VUE all over again.......well Trump praised him....

Republicans are always highly suspicious of anyone who has earned their wealth and not inherited it. They simply do not understand how this can be done.

We found out that he is a millionaire that gives very little to charity (cheapskate).

We found out why he is a Socialist....and why the "something for nothing" crowd likes his dream programs...they are not going to be free to most.

You see his real motivation to give by his answer to the question, if you think you paid too little tax, why not write a check for the balance (of the 52% he claims is the proper amount) to the United States Treasury. He wants YOUR money.
