Bernie Can Beat Trump, Primary Voters Know It

If you want to help Comrade Trump get re-elected, nominate Bernie.

If you want to defeat Trump, nominate a mainstream candidate who will do well in the all important battleground states.

There is something everyone is missing. Money. Trump now has more money to use in the election than anyone who has ever run for President has had. My guess is Trump will come close to doubling that by election day. Like it or not that is  a big factor if not the largest factor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hillary outspent Trump nearly 2 to 1. We know how that turned out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“We’re going to end a corrupt political system in which billionaires buy elections,” Bernie Sanders said at his Denver Rally. “Democracy, to me, means one person, one vote. Not Bloomberg or anybody else spending hundreds of millions of dollars trying to buy an election.”

These and many other lines drew ear-shattering applause. A significant portion of the crowd arrived hours early, and some waited in hour-long lines to buy campaign stickers and shirts. The campaign claimed more than 11,000 people attended, a total confirmed by a fire department official.

Erik Hamlin, 45, of Arvada, said he’s a former Republican who now supports Sanders.
“I’m a blue-collar man. I make minimum wage,” said Hamlin, a construction worker. “Bernie Sanders, he’s about supporting workers, supporting teachers, reforming the country and invigorating the country.”
Hamlin was in line to donate $20 to Sanders. Nearby, a nurse said she’d give $3. The line was dozens of people deep more than an hour before the main program began.

Kelly Canfield, a business analyst from Denver, said he’s encouraged by how “mainstream” the Sanders agenda has gone.

“It’s about time,” said Canfield, 57. “None of it is radical. To me, if the Democratic Party picks Bernie, it’s more like going home, to FDR, instead of running to the right like they have been. This is as American as apple pie. Not radical.”

The candidate’s wife, Jane Sanders, told The Denver Post in an interview ahead of the speech that she believes her husband, if elected, would be able to convert non-believers and transform the Democratic Party:
“He would play a big role in terms of who’s elected to the Congress,” she said.

The rally was the first in a series of Colorado visits by major presidential candidates this month.

President Donald Trump, former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren will all be here in the next week.

All but Biden, who’ll be in town for a private fundraiser hosted by former Interior Sec. Ken Salazar, will be holding public events.

Colorado’s presidential primary ballots will be tallied on Super Tuesday, March 3. This is Colorado’s first presidential primary after several caucus cycles.

Bernie has already said his running mate would likely be a woman. He added, with a smile "She will likely be younger than me".

Then he said she must be willing to travel and present his agenda to the American people. In other words, to motivate and get people involved in the process. That's where The Movement comes in.

People will have to hold members of Congress accountable, or, as he said in one of his ads "They may not be coming back to Washington". This is basically what he did as Mayor of Burlington. Keep the people well informed and motivated. Then clean house. He already has the largest social media network.

When he leaves office, for whatever reason, he'll want his successor to continue his agenda. That rules out Bloomberg, and most of the other candidates. Tulsi and Warren come closest -- and they're both women who are willing to stand up to those with the money and power. Bold, progressive women.

Of course there are other bold, progressive women, but Tulsi and Warren already have national name recognition and would make good running mates to defeat Trump.

Sorry Bernie fans---but I predict that  Bloomberg is going to be nominated.

The Democrats need someone that can energize the crowds, and he draws them.  No he is nothing like tRump. Sorry to the fans of many other candidates, but Bloomberg could very well make it. Sanders/Bloomberg or Bloomberg/Sanders would make a great ticket. Steyers would also go well with either of the two.

A Bernie / Tulsi ticket would be Trump's worst nightmare.

They would have the full support of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Tulsi would win over Veterans, Independents, Libertatians....and even Republicans like her. Tulsi would bring in voters who want a woman to "Break the glass ceiling" as the first woman Veep - and a step closer to being president. She's also a woman of color.

Hillary supporters will have to decide if they will "Vote blue no matter who" or will they choose to play the role of spoilers - ala Ralph Nader.

The strong anti-Trump Democrats will vote for a Bernie / Tulsi ticket and it will be Trump's worst nightmare.

If Hillary supporters plan on choosing the role of spoilers, then it might be wise to choose Elizabeth Warren to break the glass ceiling as Bernie's VP....

As you've heard me say repeatedly, the election is always won solely in the battleground states. They are primarily Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, PA. and Florida (plus 3 or 4 other ones). They are purple/battleground states because the electorate is essentialy mainstream. Therefore, in order to win those all important states, you need a mainstream candidate.

I'm sorry, Bernie is not a mainstream candidate. Trump will shred his number one platform, the incredibly expensive MFA plan, which takes away consumer choice. He will scare voters into going with Triump, as many could be afraid of Bernie's platform.

In addition, when blue collar workers hear the word "socialist", they think about communism. That's just a reality. Bernie is a self-proclaimed socialist. That isn't a plus if you want blue collar auto workers on your side.

Our democracy and way of life is on the line in this election. If Trump is re-elected, you cannot imagine the horrors facing American Democracy. This is not the time to gamble with a far left progressive who won't be very popular in the the purple states.

I think there are several combinations including Bernie Sanders that would work quite well in defeating tRump. Bernie has a very strong following and will get the vote out in high numbers.

Sanders/Bloomberg

Sanders/Klobuchar

Sanders/Buttigieg

Sanders/Steyers

There is something everyone is missing. Money. Trump now has more money to use in the election than anyone who has ever run for President has had. My guess is Trump will come close to doubling that by election day. Like it or not that is  a big factor if not the largest factor. Trump must be the central  subject of all campaigns from day one. Sadly it has not been so far with the Dems. It is starting to but the people are way ahead of those running as it is up to 6 out of 10 now say beating Trump is number one. We have some Candidates saying they will turn down money from big donors. That is fine for normal times but to do it with Trump is nuts. You need money and big money to offset Trump. You make no deals with anyone for money except you will end the Trump era and try to bring the USA back to world leadership. There will be no big new programs in the next 4 years as it will take at least that long to undo the mess Trump has created and the Dems running for Office should face that fact. This country is really between center left, and center right and that is how we became great.  Here is another fact. Bernie and Trump are both leaders of a movement and that means people have to choose a movement when they vote. We have had 4 years of a movement that is destroying the USA, and people know that so will they want another movement. Movements always sound good when you hear about them, but so far they have failed when tried.

Here is a question on Tulsi. Yes she has a good background military etc., but no one in DC from HI will comment on her. It looks like something is not at the surface so be careful. You can be sure Trump knows. It makes no sense to run down the major Dem's running for office but hopefully they wake up to reality and that is how  you will beat Trump.
